BLACK 2 - is it ever going to be made?

Black was essentially going to be THE PS2 shooter until they made it known that they couldn't pull off MP, but I'm not sure what would be the point of having a game like Black 2, especially when the universe itself doesn't allow for much creativity in terms of enemies/bosses/scenarios, military shooters are a dime a dozen, there are PLENTY of good ones and if someone is looking for the quintessential MP shooter that really makes shooting insanely fun, there's already Killzone 2 which in MP beta form is already HEADS AND SHOULDERS above the competition, whether it's the quality of the movement/aiming/map designs/balance, even in MP beta form it's more polished than all of the retail stuff out there.
