Well, this is good news. I wonder if the whole European version getting more content made this happen.

Anyway, more is better, especially if it's a great game!

BlazBlue will be getting an expansion of sorts in BlazBlue Continuim Shift, featuring at least one new character. That new addition would be Tsubaki Yayoi, a previously unplayable character featured in the original BlazBlue. According to details from Famitsu, we'll also get new stages and a refined HUD.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift will reportedly make an appearance at Japanese arcades soon, with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports expected later. Thanks to Gantz for the heads up!

Nice screenshots. I hope the update is DLC and not a whole new disk.

Same here, but i doubt it. Im kinda afraid that BB would follow the Guilty Gear XX path.

GGXX

GGXX#Reload

GGXX Slash

GGXX Accent Core

GGXX Accent Core Plus

That would suck alot..

Hell with that, I want a disc. As a tournament director, DLC policies (Microsoft's in particular) are a pain in the ass.

That's probably the only situation that DLC would be worse though. I'm all for putting it on a disc, but I would rather pay like $5 for a new character than $60.

Well, then, they could ship updated discs of Blazblue for new players and tournament players and offer the new content as DLC to those of us who have Blazblue but aren't tournament players.

But looking at it realistically, how many BlazBlue owners who aren't competitive will even have a need for CS? There might be a few, but let's face it, by and large that's the "one is enough" crowd.

I honestly have no idea how many non-tournament Blazblue players are out there, but such players would probably be more inclined to spend $10 or 15 for Continium Shift DLC than they would be to spend $60 for a Blazblue Continium Shift disc.

If fighting game revisions went for $10-15, we wouldn't see revisions anymore. Even if it is DLC, don't expect it for less than $30. Even that is a big compromise to a status quo I strongly believe the genre will uphold.

For those that don't know, a second new character "Hazama" has also been revealed.

*Shrugs* I wouldn't mind paying more than $15 if the amount of new content on offer is generous. IIRC VF4: Evo cost only $20 and that had a ton and a half of new content (and lots of tweaks to the old content).

That was also forced by SCEA (for being too similar to VF4) and caused a considerable delay that, along with the situation surrounding GGXX Slash (conflicting stories about that, I'll have to go into it another time), brought forth overwhelming backlash against SCEA that was likely a direct cause of the abandonment of their ridiculous content policies. Now, it's pretty much anything goes, which is why we got both Accent Core and Accent Core+.
