I just got a NIB Dreamcast and for some reason it came with a PAL controller with the blue swirl as apposed to the Red/Orange. The system has the red swirl and its NTSC(U). I've watched some unboxing vids on youtube and some people that ordered them on think geek got this (and to be honest I think the guy I ordered from ordered a few from ThinkGeek just to resell them.) So I'm just wondering iff there is any reason for this.

If you're wondering about the reason for the blue swirl on PAL consoles/accessories, from what I hear its due to another company in Europe having a patent on a similar swirl in orange - forcing Sega to use an alternative colour for the logo on hardware in that region.

I'm of the opinion that the blue swirl looks better, anyway but I guess in reality it was planned to be orange universally.

Well I knew that. It was some european dvd company or something. What I'm wondering is how or why I got a PAL controller with my NTSC console
