I've been keeping an eye out for this game ever sice it appeared back in GI for the first time. It sounds really cool. But thats not always gaurentee of a good game. Let's wait and see and cross our fingers. Of course now i gotta wonder fi i should get PC version or 360 version.
Sorry for the double-post but GS is acting all weird and not letting me edit my posts at this time. It seems there will be a good bit of exploration in the sp campaign with lots of side missions so that's good news. On the negative side though the previews I read says it will encorporate dynamic scaling. :(
Didn't even notice the game...now its my most anticipated! YukoeiYea same here, just noticed it within the past few weeks
Yeah, Borderlands is on my wish list.
Only thing is I believe they mentioned in an article about the lack of enough generated loot for the co-op mode. Loot is first-come, first-serve.
Not a good idea. They should patch the formulae to generate enough random loot for up to four players so everyone gets their fair share.:)
yeah.. ahaha. i hope the game delivers. .I've been excited for it for a while. I like the box art too! it's so cool looking.

I was tracking it since they anounce it, and then they decided to change the graphics and some gameplay features...why you backstab me gearbox? Now its a diffirent game, so i dont care. -what you talking about its the same game.... I was tracking it because it was a serious looking next gen open ended sci fi fps. Now it has that funny art style and the damage number poping up every time you hit a monster... not what id call a sci fi fps.Anyone else looking forward to this game? About 8 minutes into that video, Randy Pitchford explains that there will be no scaling. Don't worry about it.

What a great video. Very informative.
It's little weird for me because Borderland is FPS-RPG.
Not just RPG, but dungeon crawler type that's more about looting than adventure.
The thing is, the entire point of me for looting is picking up cool weapons and armors to SEE my character wear.
The looks is HUGE part of looting. Putting on cool looking equipment is what draws me in.
Being FPS, the look of your character isn't there for me to feel motivated to constantly look for loots. Which makes me wonder if I'll be able to enjoy this game.

ive gotten the impression that the majority of the looting will be in the form of guns and their effects on enemies. first person is a prime perspective for admiring both of those.[QUOTE="chadwick1343"]I was tracking it since they anounce it, and then they decided to change the graphics and some gameplay features...why you backstab me gearbox? I have never seen a post by Dakan45 that i agreed with, and he seems to post in every thread. like every opinion is completely opposite of what i'm thinking, its uncanny.
What are the chances?
I think this game could go either way. From what I have read, it is going to be action adventure slash RPG style game. This game is boasting over 500 000 types of guns to upgrade etc, however, I am not a fan of those cartoony graphics. I guess I would have to try it before I can make anymore judements. Felix1412I believe Gearbox intentionally made a unique art style to differentiate the game from the huge glut of photorealistic shooters.

I don't think there is armor since they haven't mentioned it. I think the shield orbs are taking armor's place....

That's the thing. The whole point of looting is for those armors to look cooler than you were before. At least to me it was.
Which is why equipment sets thing were popular.
To put it simply, I feel like borderland creators missed the point of looting. As gamer who is not a fan of FPS game but RPG fan, the idea lured me into looking into it, but ultimately falls short due to this reason.
It looks like for FPS fans, the additional elements can be very interesting, but for non-FPS fans, I don't think the additional materials are enough to lure them completely.

You know, you are probably right, and Pitchford's comments support what you are saying.
Basically, he says this is a FPS first and an RPG second. If you really don't like the FPS mechanics, I doubt you will like this game.
