Bungie to announce new project tomorrow? Edit: Update cancelled!

It sure looks that way. When you try to access Bungie.net, the words "Service will resume momentarily" appear on screen along with a countdown timer.

Now, here's where it really gets interesting. (I found this on GAF FYI)

Ok, here's a story for you folks... I'm not sure if anyone else has reported this.

Alan Tudyk, (who is a voice actor on Halo 3 along with Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin - all of which come from the Firefly TV series and Serenity movie) said during Gencon (a science fiction convention) in Brisbane Australia that he had just met up Nathan and Adam at Bungie to do more voice work for Halo 3 and that it's the first time he'd seen them in more than a year.

Now, this either means that they're doing voices for the Peter Jackson Halo project, or that there's an expansion for Halo 3, or even Halo 4.

Whatever it is, I am officially excited. :)

First of all, just have to say I LOVE the Firefly cast and I've always been happy for Nathan Fillion and the crew to get different credit for gaming voice overs (he was also Gao the Lesser in Jade Empire for the xbox. Awesome game, btw).

Secondly, could it be a Halo Wars expansion, like Halo Wars with a campaign addition?

Yeah. It sounds like all Microsoft has to do is give Bungie the okay and they'll show us something awesome, but apparently that goes against their master plan of making sure we get what we expect for E3 and only what we expect.

Don Mattrick, the head of MS's business division, indicated in an interview with the MTV Blog that the game which was going to be announced was a Halo game but MS decided not to announce it because they didn't want to overstimulate us.

I think it's somewhat hilarious that they hyped up the announcement for a bit now, and right before it landed... the publisher ordered them to keep quiet to reveal on a future date. This unnamed publisher pulls this stunt, and Bungie is left with all the egg on their face for making a promise they couldn't keep.argianas

This is just plain sad. Really, I feel bad for Bungie fans. 7:07:07 AM PST was the last hope and they got screwed over.

So Nintendo screwed over the core gamers.

Microsoft screwed over Bungie fans.

Sony screwed themselves.

It's a good thing Bungie went indie so that they can make their own decisions.
