Any of the games developed by Infinity Ward (Call of Duty, Call of Duty, Call of Duty 4:MW, Call of Duty:MW2) are all excellent games, my favorites being CoD2 and CoD4:MW. Outside of that cannon, however, it's really hit & miss. Treyarch's titles are great, but I still think Infinity Ward's titles are far superior. It will be interesting to see how MW3 and the future Call of Duty titles pan out with Sledgehammer and Raven involved.
Most of them are good, I got Call of Duty Classic on XBLA and it wasn't as fun as I remembered (feels dated now) but it was great for its time, but Call of Duty 2 feels much better than the first and still fun to play, didn't care for COD3 or Black Ops but all the others were fun, don't really care for the MP though.
Once COD4 dropped the shooter genre totally changed. Like prior to that, we already had "classes" like BF2 and other games, but never did we have many of the features we got in COD4. For my favorite COD game, it'd have to be a tie between COD4, and COD5. I know I'll prolly get flamed for it, but oh well. I just hated how they changed the game play. It's ruled by everything other than actual shooter talent.
Well I found cod 1 through 3 amazing, best world war 2 games I've ever played. The multiplayer and singleplayer were flawless IMO. 4 Changed everything and was also very awesome. Cod WAW was okay for going back to a vietnam war. After that we only got to play COD 4 over again.

You mean CoD:WaW went back to WW2
My favorites were CoD 2 and CoD 4 and WaW for its zombie mode.
