I don't get the hate. World War 2 has been used in less than 10 games worth playing. Unless you play every lame game that comes out, you shouldn't have played through Normandy that many times.
Either way, this game will be trash. Just wait for whatever Infinity Ward puts out. Treyarch won't put out anything worthwhile.

I agree with every word of your post. I don't think COD5 will be a good game because of Treyarch. The WWII setting has no effect on whether I will or won't like the game.

Call of Duty 3 wasn't on PC, and I doubt 5 will be either. Treyarch doesn't make PC games.
Either way, just think about this when you are getting excited for Call of Duty 5-
Could Call of Duty 4 have been done on the PS2? Call of Duty 5 will be. Either expect Treyarch to make multiple Call of Duty 5 games or expect the 360/PS3 versions to get pulled down by it.
it will still be good because it's Call of Duty 5patriots2871
I don't know. I'd like to think so, but I'm pretty disappointed. It's almost like they're trying to keep those that liked COD1-3 and COD4 solely based on time period by saying it would be in "yet another new theatre" but still going back to WW2... Though I wonder if they'll do anything interesting with Kamikazes...
I don't know, I'd personally like to MORE in the European theatre of WW2. I loved the campaign in COD4, but there are surely so many more famous battles we haven't seen yet. But, the pacific theatre would still be cool (maybe doing some stuff at Iwo Jima) or maybe even Vietnam if they did it right...
I would for once like to see a WWII game that is not from a biased American perspective. Kind of like The Thin Red Line of video games... but I know it won't be Call of Duty that delivers that. The Stalingrad theatre would be my preference.foxhound_fox
Dude, Call of Duty already did that. Call of Duty 1 and 2 have no more than a third of the missions from an American perspective.

They should call this Call of Duty: The Cousin.....cause, even though 3 was good, it's so clear how much better the Infinity Ward output is. The games just aren't directly related.
In defense of Treyarch, they probably don't have the budget or manpower that goes into the IW games. They are essentially making mission packs for the game, and the profits from them is what lets IW put as much as they do into the even numbered ones. And COD 3 was a still a great game, even if COD 2 was more varied and COD 4 was just phenomenal.
