Can a power block bad?

is it bad to have your xbox 360 connected to a power block. or is it worse not to have it on one.

Can you clarify what you mean? If you're talking about the power brick (this thing) then it is required to use the system. If you mean something else, please explain.

Its better to have it plugged into one. A good one not only evenly distributes the power to everything plugged in to it, but also blocks minor electrical surges that could otherwise damage the xbox.

There is nothing wrong with using a power strip as long as the fuse box in your home works fine, and if it doesn't then that is a bigger problem. If you put too much on it, the power will be cut by your fuse box anyway and then you'll know you have too many things on that line.
