Join the club.

As far as I could understand it, you get the confirmation that it is all in his mind. If Frederic beats you, he wakes up, sad and without understanding what has happened. If you beat Frederic...I honestly don't know. Sorry.

I'm back, armed with Wikipedia knowledge! Apparently, the one who wrote it didn't understand it fully, either, but Polka, destined to meet her death, she saw the end of her journey and went off the cliff. Actually, that jolts my memory a bit. This is how I interpret it: as this is all in the mind of Frederic, reality is really not something that can be found in there. When Polka went over the cliff, facing her fears, Chopin saw her determination and regretted his actions, leading to her being revived (once again, this is his subconscious). Having seen that this world he created within his mind was the destiny he had been searching for. Now in peace, his soul rises from his material body, but before he leaves, he plays one last masterpiece, which is inspired by Polka's kindness and determination. However, there is nothing to prove anything I said.
