Is this one of those sarcastic joke posts?
I thought it was serious until I saw "compared to the shooters coming out for PS3 I am baffled as to how people think Halo can compete."

You want to know what is ironic... Why is it the PS3 line up...seems to be far more tight with shooters then either of the other two lol. Its kind of weird when Sonys only exculsive RPG till next may...Is by the makers of Genji. When the PS was always synamious with RPG. I think you know you are in trouble.
But I just find the irony here...Is that Sony seems to keep adding on more and more shooter like games. Lets make 2 new socoms...Warhawks....Lets get Haze Timed exculsive....Lets try to get Killzone 2 out.... How they are getting epic to specially invest into the PS3 version of Unreal...
Its kind of funny when they seem to be focusing so much on Shooters this time then anythng else. A bit off topic...just something really amusing about how this gen is playing out.
I think the first game was hyped because of the auto-healing armor. But other than that, the game wasn't any good at all.AbusementPark
Wrong. The first game was hyped for many reasons. For example, the graphics were very impressive for its time, Bungie were already back then somewhat known and had released some really great games (even if their best games, the marathon trilogy was mac only), Halo was the first fps to really use vechicles and succeed in doing so. There were many reasons why the game was hyped and also succeeded.
I really wish all this unnecessary halo hate would die out. Yes, it's overrated. It's still a fantastic game, and IMO and in many others one of the best fps's out there, if not the best.
Having people explain why they like Halo is about as easy to understand as why you like Vincent Valentine enough to throw him up as your avatar.
a bioengineered vampire with no past and a crappy game under his belt doesn't do much for other people just like Halo doesn't do much for you
It is very simply put ridiculously fun. We don't hype the games because of features like 4 square km levels, or a battle armor that can be endlessly costumized or something, it's just that halo got it right. The mechanics just work perfectly. Well, the mechanics of halo 2 were a little less than perfect, but from the comments on the beta I hear that halo 3 plays better than both predecessors, and that's saying something. This is also why halo games get 10's in gameplay.
One other thing that's great about halo is the online. Not only has it very fun gameplay, bungie is the only developer I know who's seriously trying to make a perfect online setup. Let's just say I'd have played gears online 2x or 3x as long if it had the online setup like halo 2.
As an extra, I think the halo story is kinda cool, the music is awesome and graphics are usually also great.
I think I love you.Having people explain why they like Halo is about as easy to understand as why you like Vincent Valentine enough to throw him up as your avatar.
