Can you help me remember this Playstation One Sidescroller?

I can't remember the name. But, I do remember the player was a child. I remember a treehouse, and some of the enemies were shadows i think. all of this game being a side scroller. Can anyone help me figure this out?, I can't seem to remember the game!

That sure sounds like Heart of Darkness. I have yet to play that game, but I've heard plenty of good things about it.

The first thing I thought when I read the title of the thread was " This is going to be about Heart of Darkness isn't it". It's just the first thing that comes to mind when obscure PS1 sidescrollers are brought up.
