Footage of what appears to be an unreleased Sonic hoverboarding game for the original Xbox has found its way onto the web.

Looks more like a prototype or a proof of concept. The thing is ridden with placeholder art and music, either this is a rejected version of what later became the Sonic Riders series or even more likely a fan made forgery.

Why does Sonic need to skate when he can just run?

just think somewhere out there in that era of exceptionally bad sonic games....there were in fact some that were so terribly bad they got canned. this is truely frightening news. two comments on that page sum up my feelings well they really all do but two in particular "Could the designers have come up with a level any more boring? they would have to be complete masters to make anything more dog-s*** than this...." and of course this comment truely sums up my feelings. "The fact that a Sonic game got cancelled is the ultimate insult. It suggests that Sega really did have a Q+A department that let the rest of the games get through..."
