After playing both Ergheiz and Dissidia, I no longer have any desire to see any Square characters in a one on one beat-em-up (or fighter, whatever the modern term is). I know Dissidia was generally well received, but I liked very little about that game.
Do you honestly think Square's characters would make sense in a 2D Fighting game? Really?Yeah, let's use the crappy Dissidia engine over anything Capcom's done... good call

Capcom has made 3D fighting games in the past as well (Rival Schools, Project Justice, Street Fighter EX) that play better. Nothing weapons-based to this point that I can think of, but given all that, who would you rather make a fighting game?
Do you honestly think Square's characters would make sense in a 2D Fighting game? Really? come now, developers are more than smart enough to make such a transition realistic. It's not like the MVC gameplay is that realistic to begin with. I'd like to see it, but with believable fighting characters on SE side. I don't really see Sora as a badass fighting machine. Perhaps Cait Sith as a comical relief.[QUOTE="djsundowner"]

[QUOTE="AznKSor"]Lol i just thought of it when i was watching some Marvel vs Capcom 3 Videos.Think it would be amazing to see Ryu vs Sora. Or maby put in Cloud. Sorry im just so excited for both Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. :DBIG6TO6I'm sorry to burs your bubble, but Marvel, nor Capcom made Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts,
He's talking about a crossover. Marvel vs. Capcom isn't the best example for what he's going for, though. A better example would be the just-announced Street Fighter x Tekken & Tekken x Street Fighter games. Two completely different developers' characters going head-to-head.
