Fake. How can all six selectable characters exist when they are from different time lines of Castlevania lore? No Julius, no Harmony.
Everyone knows 2D Castlevania's are on handhelds only.
Harmony of Despair has been trademarked for quite a while now. Will be on DS or the new one that does 3D.
Way... WAY too ****ing sweet to be true! And there already is a "Harmony of D" game, it was Harmony of Dissonance, I highly doubt they would re-use either Harmony, or Harmony of D.

I don't know, I have manly hands so I play on a DS fat, including manly games like Contra IV and Ketsui DS. :P
Something's going on with the site that posted these.
Don't know if the page is down or it was taken down. Possibly proven false?
What a great way to destroy any credibilty a fledgling site has by posting fakes as news (or faking something themselves for traffic).
More as it develops.

I think their April fools joke was 29 days too late.
And come on, Never-known-tech? More like, who the **** are you!?
Wow. What a way to make your name known!
From now until the end of eternity, do not trust news posted by NeverKnowTech!
Fool me once...
On again, off again, on again, off again.
Latest rumor states all the pics and info was pulled by Konami themselves.
Elaborate Hoax or Real Leak?
We'll see.

Harmony of Despair is real. That mock up on XBLA is not.
Expect a new Castlevania game in October/Novermber on a handheld. We will probably see something @ E3. New 3D Castlevania has a release date of Oct 1st keeping the tradition of Castlevania releases.
well kotaku has reported on this rumor as well, so who knows we may find out at e3 if this is legit or not. I really hope it is true though and i hope simon is playable in some form or another
heres the article : Kotaku Castlevania
Please BE FAKE!!! I hope Konami took that page down cause that image was so crazy and dumb that Konami didn't want to be associated with it at all. :Pdvader654I'd buy it before that Kojima one.
Sounds too awesome to be real, but I guess you never know.
And also, they say you can have up to six players, but then who is the sixth player for this alleged game? I only read 5.
Ooookaaaay....a 2D Castlevania on current gen consoles that has HD handheld graphics? Am I missing something here? Who cares? What they need to do is make another full fledged game using all of what today's tech has to offer. An no, I don't consider the new 3D one real Castlevania, not until it proves itself anyway. I'd take 2D version over it anyday of the week. Too long has Castlevania been squandered from Konami's stubborn insistence to keep it on a platform that ultimately restricts its potential.
Make another2D Castlevania Konami, on current hardware. PLEASE! Enough of this handheld crap. Hearing this news, if true, is just infuriatingly frustrating and makes me think we'll never see another SotN caliber game.
Please, let the Gawd of Gaming make this happen. Let me experience the ecstasy that be Castlevania in HD on consoles.
Joystiq Confirms (?) it:
A trusted source has told Joystiq that "Harmony of Despair," the title of a recent European trademark, is indeed a Castlevania game. Our source indicates that the game will be a 2D multiplayer Xbox Live Arcade title, featuring six-player co-op and a versus, fighter-styIe survival mode.
These details follow a recently-pulled post on never know tech, which purported to showcase screenshots of Harmony of Despair. The site described the game as a "Metroidvania" side-scroller, featuring characters from recent Castlevania games. The characters, however, appeared to be rendered as tiny GBA/DS-esque sprites, and the game camera is apparently capable of being zoomed out to reveal entire levels (presumably in place of a map screen; or to show multiple characters in different rooms).
So it looks like we might be getting the long-awaited 2D "high-definition" Castlevania, after all. Although, "just make the GBA sprites really small on the screen" isn't exactly the technique we were hoping for.
From 1Up.Com:
"Last month, a Konami trademark filing for "Harmony of Despair" surfaced, suggesting a brand new 2D Castlevania game was about to get subtitled. Now new reports show there is indeed a new 2D Castlevania game in the works, but it'll be a lot more elaborate than most were expecting: Castlevania: Harmony of Despair will evidently be a 2D, hi-definition, six-player Castlevania game for Xbox Live Arcade.
Lending credence to this rumor is the fact that these details are coming from two separate sources. First, never know tech posted a report on Harmony of Despair (which has since been pulled, but can still be read on NeoGAF), stating it'll have a multiplayer mode allowing six people to play together at the same time. The game will still be in the "Metroidvania" styIe of all recent 2D Castlevania games, and the playable characters revealed so far will come from the last few Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS titles: Soma Cruz (Aira of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow), Alucard (Symphony of the Night, and also unlockable in Dawn of Sorrow), Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin (Portrait of Ruin), and Shanoa (Order of Ecclesia).
Weirdly, though (and somewhat disappointingly), the character sprites will evidently be the same as those used in the Nintendo DS games, with Harmony of Despair viewed with a "wide camera angle," letting players see more of their surrounding area than past 2D Castlevania games. On top of that, clicking the right analog stick also pops the view out to see the entire map, in lieu of the usual Castlevania map screen.
Second, Joystiq reports that a "trusted source" corroborated all of these details, as well as said Harmony of Despair will also feature a 'versus, fighter-styIe' multiplayer mode. So while none of this is coming officially from Konami, it all seems pretty solid (especially considering that purportedly leaked screens from the game can also be seen in the NeoGAF thread, including what seems to be the title screen above). We'll consider this a rumor for now, but a rumor with a lot of momentum behind it..."
*Hopes the sixth character is Simon Belmont, even though he was never in a metroidvania type castlevania game*
Yeah that would be great. He's always been my favourite Castlevania character.*Hopes the sixth character is Simon Belmont, even though he was never in a metroidvania type castlevania game*

Yeah, Simon is ****ing awesome, as is Shanoa, Alucard, and Soma.
Adding in Simon would include my four favorite Castlevania characters in the cast.
I still think this is fake. It doesn't make sense for it to be 360 only if you want to market the new 3D Castlvania that's multiplatform. Why not make an all new game with all new sprites, for example Castlevania The Adventure ReBirth. Why re-use the levels from the DS games? These two pictures show one level from Order of Ecclesia and the other one from Portrait of Ruin:
Order of Ecclesia
Portrait of Ruin
Comparison pic from Portrait of Ruin. This Boss can be seen in the upper right hand corner of the second picture.
Dont ger me wrong, I would like a new Castlevania game on a home counsel. I just wouldn't want the crap that they are reporting as a rumor.

Think about it though, i mean they have been reusing the same spirtes and locales for years, most of the ones they still use are from rondo of blood. I agree with you in that i would definitely rather see a full on HD game with redone sprites but even if this is real or not it does seem like something they would do, and it wouldnt be to hard for them to release fairly quickly and at little cost.
Re using everything form the handhelds? Lame. Only on xbox live? lame.
Overall verdict if true: Unimpressed.
Destructoid article 5/2710:
"The concept of a multiplayer-focused Castlevania game proved to be difficult for a lot of you to accept when rumors of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair started circulating. But, if the OFLC's recent listing for the game is any indication -- it totally is -- then we have ourselves a very real game."
^ Yeah but, Castlevania Harmony of Despair has been trademarked in Japan since late last year. So it doesn't really have any truth to it being a multiplayer game since there is still no description of what the game is. Castlevania Harmony of Despair is coming I just don't think it's the game that's been rumored.
From Kotaku:
"Microsoft's now-traditional 'Summer of Arcade' continues next month, with a jam-packed schedule seeing the release of five new Xbox Live Arcade titles, among them a brand new Castlevania game from Konami.
That game is the previously-rumoured Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, which is not only a multiplayer side-scroller, but was also designed by series veteran - and whip fetishist - Koji 'Iga' Igarashi.
The other four games due for release over five weeks, beginning in July, are Hydro Thunder Hurricane, Lara Croft & The Guardian Of Light, Limbo and Monday Night Combat."
As posted by Destructoid:
"This fast-paced 2-D side scroller takes vampire hunters on a chase to bring Dracula, the Lord of Darkness, to his eternal slumber. Designed by the producer of the legendary Castlevania series, Koji Igarashi, Castlevania: Harmony of Despair allows friends to play together via online co-op story mode or duke it out to see who the best vampire hunter is in Survival Mode."
I had a feeling it was real, the artwork pretty much proved it to begin with. Oh, and Spirit, don't you delete your posts! :P
As long as I'm still getting my 3D Castleroid Curse of Darkness successor made by IGA, I'll be happy with this on XBLA. I hope its splitscreen so my friend and I, who are crazy CV fans can play together (neither of us have online).
