Champions of Norrath PS2 compatability

Hey.

I am looking to buy a PS2 console and I really want to play through Champions of Norrath with a friend of mine...but I know that the game has issues with many PS2s. In my old PS2 fat (which I am replacing because I broke) , the game wouldnt even start up correctly...

So, the question is - which model series of PS2s is definitely compatible with Champions of Norrath? Which version/series should I buy? The only new console I can find in stock online is the white bundle with Singstar off Amazon (here)...but this was released in 2007 and I don't know what series it is or if it is a good series to get.

Any suggestions/advice?

Never had any problems with it in either the fat or the slim.

Important to note, Champions: Return to Arms was a whole mess of disappearing floors, amongst other bugs. But to reiterate my first post, never had any bugs I can think of on the original.

I had Champions of Norrath for the Ps2, IT worked fine for me. I had a Fat Ps2 as well. When were your other Ps2s MAde?
