Lets take a moment and talk about a few highly anticipated FPS games of 2007

Crysis

Crysis is by far the most appealing game when it comes to graphics, Crytek made other anticipated games like Far Cry which was also dipped in a Jungle-ish Rambo kinda look, I can't really tell anything from the game, but I must say I'll be eagerly waiting for the game to come out, since I'll hopefully will be able to play this game on my rig, which also costed me both my legs. Theres one, big downfall for Crysis tho, you'll be needing a BEAST of a PC to play this game of all its glory, since Crysis is really taking extremely much advantage of the PC nowadays, and will only come in the hands of people that have a high-end PC.

Multiplayer will be, interesting atleast, I saw a video at a Nvidea 8800 show and saw that the multiplayer maps are almost just as huge as one island/city from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, I'll be hoping multiplayer will host alot of players, because I honestly think that only 12-16 players will make the game pretty slowpaced, as I want it to be full of action, vehicles and fastpaced rampage.

 Halo 3

Halo is by far, the biggest tourist trap ever made, don't get me wrong, Halo and Halo 2 were alright, but it doesn't live up by how high the fanboys claim all the Halo games. I bought Crackdown just to get in the beta of Halo 3 and I was instantly thinking of Unreal Tournament for some reason, mainly because both games include people dressed in mailboxes and spray a gun, but the only diffrence between UT and Halo is that UT plays right as a MP, because its made to be one, Halo and Halo 2 got the formula not right two times, and I think they get incredibly close from this beta, and with close, I mean getting closer to UT's direction.

Single Player from Halo was always somekind of bonus, I really enjoyed Halo's single player but in Halo 2 it was lacking somewhat, I'm very sure Halo 3 will beat UT with single player, unless UT re-opens and huge cinematic assault mission series.

 Unreal Tournament 3/2007

Unreal Tournament is one of the first (next to Doom) games in its genre, it had the formula right in one shot: unlimited online hectic chaos, now over the years the games has been getting better, with Ut04 it made a FPS 'Monster kill' with Onslaught mode.

In the trailers of the new Ut game, I can see that they kept to their formula: unlimited online hectic chaos, now finished of with better graphics and vehicles, I saw a huge Tripod like machine that blew stuff up, so I'll be hoping more vehicles like that come in the game.

I'm really hoping that UT3 will be just as good as any other UT game, and being a fan of all Epic's games (GoW, Unreal series) I'm pretty sure they'll succeed.

Single Player in Ut04 wasn't good, you could pick out a character and battle in the 'Unreal Tournament' against other players in DM mode, which is pretty good if you really was into the UT universe, but everybody just wants CHAOS, and I think UT3 will delives CHAOS, I'm really hoping Single Player now will give you somewhat assault missions like I mentionned above, since they were always the best part of UT apart from CHAOS.

 Half-life 2:Episode Two

Half-Life is pretty popular game, it brings alot of interesting features to games, like the physics engine in combination with the great Gravity gun, and HDR lighting (or Bloom if you are lazy).

I'm dissapointed that the Black Box isn't appearing tho, cause I don't feel like paying money for games I already have, but I'm still buying the Orange Box because it still contains Team Fortress 2

According to VALVe, Episode Two will be in White Forest, a forest where I barely know something about, but from the trailers and gameplay movies I'm pretty sure HL2 will step away from Line-ar gameplay and start somewhat freeroaming, seeing that the new muscle car is used to travel long distances.

I'm very sure this segment will be a success, because they are also bringing out a new vehicle, a new weapon and a new enemies, plus a freeroaming forest to explore in and kill combines with.

Team Fortress 2

I never played a TFC game, I only watched user uploaded movies from YouTube to get the idea of the game, I'm pretty sure that old fans of the originial game are going to like this one, because it will make a blast start being a stand-alone game AND with a great overhaul of graphics and physics.

The rock-paper-scissor kinda classes do fairly good in FPS, especially with the classes of TF2 like engineer and Heavyweapon guy, one class can work good and weak against all other opponents in one way or another, thats what makes this a tactical game and I'm waiting for this game to come out, it really looks that good.

If there is any FPS I'm most interested in it's Bioshock which I'll be getting for PC....cause it's gameplay is actually attempting to be about more then just shooting things.

The other FPS games I'm most interested in is Team Fortress 2 which will serve as my multiplayer fps of choice for quite awhile and Crysis since I really enjoyed Far Cry and Crysis looks to take large scale open-ended interactive game environments to a whole new level.

There are other highly anticipated FPS games then the ones you listed like Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Call of Duty 4.

I'd love to talk about CoD4, because I own all the CoD games, but theres only one trailer released for it and no gameplay shown yet, all I can say the Graphics might outwin Crysis, nothing more.

(and ragdoll physics, do it Activision!)

I'd get Shadowrun to, the concept looks pretty similar to that Villain MMORPG, and somewhat Crackdown with all the upgrade features in the game, but the game doesn't support any ragdoll features, which is a must unless you are a CoD game.

buhhh they all look so good!  In terms of multiplayer, I am probably most anticipating Team Fortress 2.  I've watched all the vids countless times and the HW Guy one is hilarious.  I think out of all those games, it probably has the most style.  But I'm sure I will end up buying them all :)

I'm looking forward to pretty much all the big shooters this year Halo3, UT III, HL2 Ep.2, Crysis, Call of Duty 4, Quake Wars, and I'll have them all :P

I don't consider Bioshock to be a FPS more like a FP/RPG or FPA, same goes to The Darkness from the makers of Riddick with all those special powers you have it looks more to be and action adventure game. I'm building a new rig for Call of Duty 4 this year and looking forward to Return to Castle Wolfentein coming out next year :D

The devs who did Chronicles of Riddick are making the Darkness?  Nice.  The Darkness looks absolutely amazing, definately my type of game.  But I was a little worried that it would kind of suck... not sure why.  I haven't played Riddick, but I hear such awesome things about it that this definately instills some security in the knowledge that the Darkness is going to rock.

I can't wait for Quake Wars. I still need to pick up Quake 4, I really enjoyed the demo of it, the fighting is much more consistant then Doom 3 was. I was really depressed by how boring Quake 3 Arena was though, compared to UT2004 its no contest that UT is by far better. I hope Quake Wars lives up to expectations.

The Orange Box gets an automatic Best Purchase of the Year award - I have never seen so much goodness crammed in a single package. BioShock and Crysis will probably be amazing as well.

I'm dissapointed the Black Box is gone tho, since I already purchased HL2 and Ep1, but I'm still buying it for those 3 wicked new games, I could just Ebay the steamcodes I get for HL2 and Ep1.

The Darkness looks pretty interesting atleast, I really like the comic aswel, I'll explain part of whats going on:

You are this Maffia guy, who has somekind of genetic syndrome which makes you into a beast at times, try to imagine the Hulk but then two snake-beings start rising from you're body looking for people to eat, then you go along doing gruesome stuff to people.

With any luck, Bioshock is NOT going to be an FPS, just like it's spiritual ancestor wasn't (System Shock 2).
