what is your most prized or valuable item when it comes to video game collecting?quasarwolf
My Copies of Chrono Trigger, as that I own not only the DS version but the original SNES version as well as a copy of the original Super Famicom Game.
It's hard to say. I have a lot of games and sometimes I find things I forgot I had in the first place. lol
Off the top of my head though, Earthbound complete for SNES. It's not mint but it's in pretty good shape.
Though I wish I had Chrono Trigger like the user above me. :P
probably Panzer Dragoon Saga, I own the PAL version .
Im not a big fan or digital downloads and compilations, but I think its one game that should be rereleased, I think alot of people would really like it, but just can't afford it .

Well I will go ahead and I say I wish I had your copy of Earthbound as well as that sounds like a nice copy of the game you have.

Earthbound....yet another game that was never released here........ actually , rephrase that , yet another RPG not to be released hereRight now it's my DS. It may not be the rarest item in my collection. But it's the one I'm having the most fun with at the moment due to it being my newest addition and it's new way to play on the touchscreen.
As for actual rarity, it would probably be my TurboGrafx-16 console.
TG16 is considerd rare? I thought it was kind of a mid level rarity.Right now it's my DS. It may not be the rarest item in my collection. But it's the one I'm having the most fun with at the moment due to it being my newest addition and it's new way to play on the touchscreen.

Well you're in Europe, right? Over there I hear it is common. But over here in the U.S., not so much. That's when Nintendo and Sega dominated over everything else. You had one or the other, or you had a PC. Or if you were poor you had an Atari 2600.
The only TurboGrafx-16 I have ever seen in real life (other than internet and magazine ads and such), is the one I own.

Yeah it is pretty good. Though I've come to realize that no matter how many games I end up with I always want more. I have a feeling I'll end up with Chrono Trigger someday and then move onto the next must have for me. lol
It's like a disease. A very costly one. :P

actually, the TG16 was never officially released here, only in very limited numbers as an import, some private companies just packaged it with a different power cable and modified the video chip to run at 50Hz. so if anything is much rarer here then over there.Right now it's my DS. Off topic for a moment but I never followed up on that...so you did get it, did you get the fantastic Contra IV?
Over here it was the Mega Drive that was very popular, considerably more so then the SNES.
before that , the Master System was more popular then the NES, and it was still officially supported here until the mid 90s

I thought the TurboGrafx-16 was common in Europe and released as the "PC Engine", like in Japan. That's what I get for assuming.

Nope, I got Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for XBox 360 instead. It was a tough choice, both around the same price, but in the end I figured the Genesis Collection had more games and it wasn't in for the last couple of months so I needed to snag it while I could.

Haven't done any more than test it out yet. I've been playing other stuff. I finished New Super Mario Bros. DS. Then I played the minigames on it for quite a while. Now I'm playing through Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Good game, except for the stupid train parts (which is the hook of this game). Other than the train parts it's your basic Zelda game, which is a good thing. Then this past weekend it's been all Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.
Good question... I would say my Metal Gear Solid PS1, Parasite Eve 1& 2, followed by Balloon Fight for NES (the game that I love the most and will treasure the most)
Man, that's hard to say... I have Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the PS2 and Xbox, FF1,2,3,7, 8, 9 all original releases (US),then the other playstion FF's as well. Breath of Fire 1,2,3. 40 Unliscensed NES games. A couple NES and SNES homebrews. over 80 unopened PS2 games mostly Atlus titles and RPG's (a few are off the wall obscure games). About 20 sealedatari games. I guess nothing really sticks out as my one and only most prized gaming possesion. As a collector though, I am proud to say I own over half the entire US NES library, and that is what I am most proud of. I plan on collecting full sets of NES, SNES, GEN, and Saturn. Then if Im still in a collecting mood go back and start a Sega Master System collection... Sad to say with over 1,300 games I have never owned or even PLAYED a SMS game that I can remember... huh. If and when I finish those goals, I guess I go for complete 64, GC, and possibly even PS collections.
Other things worth mentioning may be I own 2 top loading NES's, Have 1 of each color NES zapper, and just about all the add ons and and gaming peripherals imaginable up to current gen (minus Rob the Robot :()

While I may not have as many games as others, or the exceedingly rare stuff that others have, I have a respectable collection. The things that stand out are my copy of Ogre Battle on SNES, ROB the Robot (missing only one claw for gyromite!), my Famicom, and most notably my JVC X'EYE. Other than that, I've got some pretty good stuff, but way too much to list.

thanks, lets see if i did it rightDoubt it could be that rare, but Cosmic Carnage on the 32x is probably my rarest anyways. As for my most prized, uh, I don't know, maybe Out Run on the Master System since I love the Out Run games (Now if only I could get an arcade cabinet of one of them...). Or maybe it's the Zelda Collector's Edition thing, as that wasn't even a standard release.

Probably my boxed and mintAtari Lynx with the manuals and plastic sleeve still there, CIB and mint SNES Chrono Trigger ( even the warranty paper still there), Earthbound which is perfect but no box :(, all my original Final Fantasy games ranging from NES to PS3 (PS1 are all black label), and last my CIBSega Master System.
I don't really consider myself a collector or anything so I don't have any super rare games, but I do happen to have a complete Zelda OOT collectors edition in almost mint condition. I also have FF8 for the pc complete with it's big box. Not sure if that's rare or not though.
Edit: Oh, and I also have a boxed master system.

chrono trigger is a great game to have, i have never played it though i would really like to own it and beat it. its too damn rare and expensive. i thought about buying the famicom version but i dont think an rpg in japanese would be very fun and easy to understand.Well i gatta say that alot of you have some stuff i would love to own to complete my collection. besides form owning nes, snes, Genesis, sega CD, Sega 32X, n64, NGC (black), Wii (25th Anniv. edition red), original xbox (modded), xbox 360, Original black gameboy (toys R us exclusive), GBC (kiwi), GBA, GBA SP, NDS. I have matching game cartdrige holding cases for the NES, SNES and Genesis with wood grain textured black casing. complete games (box, book, game) i own are, a boy and his blob (nes) super mario rpg, contra III the alien wars, super metroid, MK3 (nes) mario kart 64, the legend of zelda: ocarina of time collectors edition gold cartdrige, pokemon stadium yellow edition, I basicly own most of the best games for each system except the 64, which i still need quite a few games for, my rarest items are. Power Blade 2 (nes), Contra force (nes), sonic the hedghog (NES, Yes I said NES), the legend of zelda: a link to the past special edition SNES system with all inserts with box and the legend of zelda bonus map, i already mentioned my original Black gameboy. quasarwolf
Contra Force for the NES huh.... damn, nice... I have been trying to track down that elusive game for many years... might just have to break down and pay big bucks on Ebay or amazon... :( Out of everything you listed that definately caught my eye the most.

Yeah, Powerblade 2 caught my eye as well, just not nearly as much as Contra Force. Sonic on the NES is a homebrew, but from a collectors standpoint, that is awesome. I have a few Homebrews on the NES including 3 different Zelda games that no one probably even knows about, Earthworm Jim, and a couple translated japan NES RPG's. Your NES stuff by far impressed me the most... probably because I'm a huge early Nintendo collector, even though I think that everything after the SNES lacked in the superior quality up to that point. PS easily took over my favorite current game console at the time it released. 64, GC, and Wii just can not capture the old school Nintendo spirit for me. Not saying they are bad consoles though. Overall the things you listed shows me that you are a collector, and I always love having other collectors on the boards :) Check out the CCC union. Candid Collector's Union.. It is a union where fellow game collectors get together to discuss games of every era. If you can't find an answer there, you probably wont find an answer anywhere on the internet.

Yeah, it plays Gen and Sega CD games. I've heard it is compatible with the 32X, but I've never tried it. The X'EYE is a far superior console compared to the Genesis, as it outputs standard RCA and sounds so much better. No crazy cords or any of that garbage. That thing is pretty rare as well, so I'd pick it up if you can.
I own a few rare Saturn games. Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru is my rarest and most prized game.x-2tha-zyou own Taromaru??? that game even outdoes Radiant Silvergun in rarity.......youre too lucky :P then again I own Panzer Dragoon Saga so who am I to talk.
