Is anyone loyal to a particular console today? Speaking from experience, I remember when I was a kid there seemed to be fairly defined lines. One household would have a particularconsole rather than having multiple consoles as it *seems* more prevalent today.
I was a Nintendo fanboy; although, it was not my first console. Coleco Vision was, and I also had the Atarti 2600 and 7800. I followed Nintendo until the waning years of the SNES and for the specific reason that I enjoyed their library games the most. Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, Mario Brothers, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, just to name the big ones. I admit that I did like Phatasy Star III on the Genesis though.
I jumped ship when Squaresoft decided to publish Final Fantasy 7 on the Playstation and from that point forward I was a Sony fanboy but to a lesser extent as I still had that special place for Nintendo.
Fast forward a decade and I have re-rentered the console realm after a long stint in PC gaming and picked up the XBOX360. I picked the XBOX360 mainly because of my GF's children (amazing how priorities change when you get older), but have no specific 'need' to feel loyal to it.In fact, MS could burn for all I care as publishers would just pick up and head elsewhere if a console company decided to close doors. There are certainly amazing games on all consoles today, but the library seems larger on the XBOX360 and I have had nothing but good experiences. I would pick up the PS3 and Wii, but that just gets costly.
I like the XBOX360 but the days of OMGLOL it pwns your stup1d conso1e!! are long gone. What say you?
