Is anyone loyal to a particular console today? Speaking from experience, I remember when I was a kid there seemed to be fairly defined lines. One household would have a particularconsole rather than having multiple consoles as it *seems* more prevalent today.

I was a Nintendo fanboy; although, it was not my first console. Coleco Vision was, and I also had the Atarti 2600 and 7800. I followed Nintendo until the waning years of the SNES and for the specific reason that I enjoyed their library games the most. Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, Mario Brothers, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, just to name the big ones. I admit that I did like Phatasy Star III on the Genesis though.

I jumped ship when Squaresoft decided to publish Final Fantasy 7 on the Playstation and from that point forward I was a Sony fanboy but to a lesser extent as I still had that special place for Nintendo.

Fast forward a decade and I have re-rentered the console realm after a long stint in PC gaming and picked up the XBOX360. I picked the XBOX360 mainly because of my GF's children (amazing how priorities change when you get older), but have no specific 'need' to feel loyal to it.In fact, MS could burn for all I care as publishers would just pick up and head elsewhere if a console company decided to close doors. There are certainly amazing games on all consoles today, but the library seems larger on the XBOX360 and I have had nothing but good experiences. I would pick up the PS3 and Wii, but that just gets costly.

I like the XBOX360 but the days of OMGLOL it pwns your stup1d conso1e!! are long gone. What say you?

Yeah, I was once a Sega fan and all. When I was little, I used to love playing the Genesis. Then my brother bought a PlayStation and things changed. I then switched over. Then as I grew up, I've owned almost every Sony console. From the PSX to the PS2 to the PS3 and the PSP. However, I'm not entirely a Sony fanboy since I also have a DS, used to have the old GameBoys(the pocket, monochrome one and the Advance) and I borrow my cousin's Wii occasionally. I enjoy playing most Nintendo games, but Playstation is where I'm at. I barely show interest to Microsoft, though. The only thing I'm loyal to them for is Windows and that's it.

I've never had any irrational bias towards a console. I would just buy the one with the best games if a decision needed to be made.

My first console was a N64, then I bought a PS2. That was when I dedicated myself to Sony. They will eventually topple the Nintendo giant! Or wait for Microsoft to kill it and then kill them.

My first console was Playstation and forever will be. I will always be loyal to Sony. My house is completely Sony. Sony computers, TV's, laptops, sterios, dvd players, and ofcourse gaming consoles. I just can't get an Xbox due to no Blu-Ray, less gigs, and less features. I;ve played both Xbox's, so i know what they got. I've had a PS One, a PS, PS2, PS3, and PSP, and soon the PSP Go and the PS3 slim when Japan decides to introduce it to the world.

For me I've never been loyal to a console, but I have somewhat disliked Playstation always based on the fact that I just loved everything else a lot more.

The way I am now is that I can like anything, but Nintendo will always be champ (regardless of whether I own, or like their new systems).

for me it has to be microsoft and the xbox 360. Amazing online play, great graphics, good games like halo and gears of war, and a price that might not be as cheap as the wii, but is cheaper than the ps3. Wut more can you ask for

I'm currently in Microsoft's camp, but I'm slowly attempting to go over to Sony a bit as well (except a PS3 is quite expensive right now...). I used to love Nintendo, but there focus has shifted, so I only retain my handheld loyalty to them.

consoles I've had in order: SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, Gamecube(also used PC a lot during this time), Xbox360 + my family has a PS2 that I play sometimes but it's not mine I considered getting a Wii but while I like games like Zelda and Metroid, the Xbox games looked more interesting to me.

I really like the feel of the X360, but I have to say I like the amount of features that the PS3 offers. I really can't choose right now.

Sony for now. I'm unbricking my PSP and I love playing on my PS3. Nintendo used to be my home boy but now they dissapoint me with no EarthBound and this "casual gamer" crap. Although now I'm getting back into PC gaming since Valve is a MS fanboy corporation and it's annoying having to update my games all the time but Steam does that for you so it's good.

While I do admit that in my younger years(late 80's-early 90's) I had a heavy bias toward Nintendo. Now that I'm older, I find console loyalty to be strange and in most cases, stupid. I play games to have fun, the console itself has no bearing on that.

I don't know if I'd call myself loyal, but I've been a longtime Nintendo fan, and I don't plan on jumping ship anytime soon. I don't really care for them as a company, but I still like Nintendo's games. My Wii and DS are all that I need.

It's ok to have console loyalty to a certain extent. When people start bashing other consoles simply because that's not the one they bought, then that just makes them a jerk. I have always gottent he sony console and two of my friends have 360s and outside of I'm using a different controller, it's the exact same thing. I am probably gonna get a 360, but that is just for some exclusives that i really wanna get. Now I know I just said bashing a console is stupid, but I hate the wii not because that's not what I got, but in the times that I played it, I just felt like i was playing nintendo games with ps2 graphics and instead of sittin down and pressing buttons, I was waving two stick things around and pressing buttions.

I've got zero console loyalty. I follow developers. I purchased a Dreamcast because I loved Sonic as a kid. I purchased a N64 because I loved Mario. I fell in love with Rare and when they went to the Xbox, I went to the xbox also. While there I fell in love with Bio-Ware. They only made games on MS systems so I purchased a 360. I don't see the point to be loyal to a console rather than the games on the console. I don't buy consoles to look at the OS or admire how pretty the design is. I buy them to play games. That's what matters for me so that's what I follow.

This subject isn't suitable for this board, which is about games not about console comparisons. I'd say take this to System Wars, but the subject is a bit redundant there, as your question is pretty much what the entire board is about.
