Try:
Dark Fall series
Barrow Hill
Rhiannon
If you don't mind real-time 3D graphics then Darkness Within 2 and Penumbra series are great picks too
Not an adventure game and nothing like ScratchesHow about Eternal Darkness? one not to be missed imo.

Not an adventure game and nothing like Scratches Well it's an action-adventure, and a cult classic. The sanity meter creates some of the most unique and bizare scary moments that often break the fourth wall, like when it tricks you into thinking it's deleting all of you save files for the game, stuff like that.[QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]Not an adventure game and nothing like Scratches Well it's an action-adventure, and a cult classic. Enternal Darkness just doesn't fit. Majority of action-adventures (including ED) have far more in common with action games than with adventure titlesanyway[QUOTE="SapSacPrime"]

True, but traditional adventure games are rare nowadays, the only modern ones I can think of off the top of my head are indigo prophecy and heavy rain, and I don't think either one qualifies as a horror game.UT_Wrestlerhuh? THere are literaly dozens of traditional adventure games released each year, it's just that Gamespot doesn't cover them anymore. The game the OP mentioned (Scratches) and most of those I recommended are all from last couple years.
