On the hunt for some co-op games that me and my girlfriend can play together. I've got an xbox one and a pc and laptop that can run most games, preferably xbox one.

We've played some Gears of War, Minecraft, Portal, The Forest, just to name a few

We'd love to play some older games that have maybe been remastered like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Rachet and Clank etc, we both love Marvel and DC so any of those sort of games would be great. We've also looked into some horror games that are single player so we can take it in turns.

Most games we've seen aren't backwards compatible on the xbox one or are PS4 exclusives.

Any help or suggestions is really appreciated

Thank you!

@narlymech: Ah thank you, forgot to mention we've played that on xbox, we both really loved it but thank you for the suggestion, we may try it again with different characters.

Doesn't Xbox have Castle Crashers? Consider that maybe, Beat em' Ups are fun for coop. Though the Rare Collection may also bold-well.

If you haven't already look into Resi 5/6, they also have local coop. Not as good as previous games in the series. But with a friend are fun ^_^

Castle Crashers is fun, and Alien Hominid from the same developer.

The Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games are alright. Not great, but fun enough and with lots of characters to choose from.

All the Halos before 5 had couch co-op.

Blazing Angels 2 is a WW2 flight combat game with a co-op mode. It's fun, but I know not everyone likes flight games.

Borderlands.

All Lego games.

The Borderlands series is great for couch co-op. Then you have a few older titles like Dungeons and Dragons: Daggerdale and Lord of the Rings: War of the North. Co-Optimus lets you sort games by console and even couch co-op if that helps! My wife and I have enjoyed all three above titles as well as Diablo 3.

Brothers a tale of two sons. Lovers in a Dangerous Space time. Overcooked. Keep talking and nobody explodes (though that could be more fun with more than 2, it's worth exploring). Viking Squad. Rocket League.

If you really want to dive into couch co-op stuff Nintendo consoles tend to be pretty good at it so it may be worth looking into (older?) Nintendo consoles and their co-op games if your lady gets hooked.

I heard games like Borderlands, Dying Light, Left 4 Dead and Gears of War have good co-op too. Haven't tried those personally and I don't know if you can play together on one screen or if you need 2 systems for it.

You can play co-op in most "Tales of" games. Berseria just came out, so that's an option for you.
