Cover of the Year

What do y'all think is the best game cover of the year? Also what do you think is the worst?

For me, L.A. Noire has the best cover of 2011. The design is awesome and just elegant, and the raised gold lettering puts it over the top. I didnt like the game, but the cover is one of my all time favorites. I also like the battlefield 3 cover. Not sure what the worst is, but Forza 4 cover looks awful, boring, and dull. I hate it.

LA Noire, really? looks sooo generic and it tries too hard. The girl is pretty though, and that's the only good thing about it. Personally, it would have to be Dead Space 2. Looks cool. Portal 2 as well.

I actually have to agree with TC. I have not played the game but the Cover for the game really stands out. Can't exactly figure it out. But everytime I see that cover it makes me want to purchase the game. Maybe it's the colours used. Not sure exactly.

Just figure to make this more interesting I'd toss in the most dissapointing cover as well...

God Of War 3 did not come out this year but I find that to have the most dissapointing cover. I loved the cover for God Of War 1 and 2 but the third was just bland.

The japanese box art for Okamiden is really nice.

Resistance 3.

Although Shadows of the Damned's Japanese box art was pretty great for one reason :P

I like Uncharted 3's cover a lot.

Have to go with the 360 version of Dark Souls

It may not be the absolute best of the year, but one I think is at least a solid contender is 'Batman: Akrham City.'

I really enjoyed the simplicity of the image; Batman sitting atop a Gargoyle, staring down on the city all in grey and white with the tiny, almost missable specks of red blood on his knuckles.

It's a sign of good artwork where they don't need bells and whistles to sell the product visually.

So far, my favorite game cover has been Dead Space 2. I like both the outer box that the Collector's Edition came in and the image on the jewel case.

Not that I own them, but I like Dirt 3 and Resistance 3 covers.
