Hey guys. I wanted to write my own 2D Legend of Zelda-like game for Xbox Live. I thought this is the place to find the most people who played the 2D Zelda games and I wanted to ask you a few questions:

What do you think are the core elements of a 2D Legend of Zelda which should absolutely be implemented as well?

What other gaming elements should be implemented?

Does anyone of you want to contribute something to the game (side stories, graphics, concept art, dungeon designs, beta testing, etc.)?

I'm currently doing this as a one man project, so it would be really nice to get at least a talented graphic artist to join me. Or at least an enthusiastic one. ;) Everyone who built his own character in 3D dot game heroes is well overqualified, since I'll only need 2D images of characters and environment. If you are really enthusiastic to contribute to such a game and make it real, I can also teach you all you need to know to produce some 2D images of characters or the world.

1. Well designed dungeons

2. Tight controls

3. Good use of items (upgradeable if possible)

4. Memorable characters

5. Good music, I recommend a "loop" that is longer than 2 minutes.

^ i would recommend different music for different areas all in all. for alttp and later zelda titles had different music for different regions.

if you need music i'm probably your man. i've got a pretty diverse knowledge of music and enjoy writing & recording all types of genres. alot of what i do on my own is hard rock heavy metal type stuff but i've got some electronic and classical era type music. If you want to hear some of my stuff hit me up via text / message thing.

@sonic_spark: Those points are good. I think I'll definitely fulfill 1 & 4, Gonna have to work a lot on 2&3 and well, 5 is not entierely up to me since I probably won't do that on my own. @z4twenny: Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it. I will probably come back to you once I have reached an early alpha stage. @JigglyWiggly_; I am currently planning and designing the basic layout and components of the game which will be incorporated in the game engine. I am kinda busy with uni right now thus I'm mainly planning the game right now. But I'll definitely focus all my efforts on developing the game after this term. Thanks for the advice, I will work on it soon. ;)
