Dark Souls 2 online HELP

Ok does anyone know why I haven't been able to get online with Dark Souls 2 at all yet? My online functionality for my PS3 seems to be totally fine, Netflix, other games etc all work. It's just with DS2 I keep getting a "can't connect to server" message. I'm totally offline. Can't see messages, other players, bloodstains, nothing, and obviously can't co-op/invade either because of this.

It's driving me nuts. I thought maybe it was just server issues so I've just been trying to be patient since launch but still nothing. I'm way into the game at this point and I just feel like I'm missing out on a huge chunk of what makes a Souls game. I didn't have this issue with Dark Souls or Demon's Souls either, and Google has been no help.

Any ideas? Would really appreciate some assistance. This is terribly frustrating.

i dunno. online has been fine for me since launch and i haven't heard of other people having issues so i assume it's more on your end. have you brought up the XMB while in the game to make sure you're logged into to PSN? sometimes the souls games log me off as i launch them and i have to log back in again before i can get online features.

if nothing else, try contacting namco support. they'll probably have better luck troubleshooting than me.

Holy shit this sucks, perhaps your internet is too slow to even download the update so it just cancels it.

I'm definitely logged into PSN because I'm still getting notifications of friends logging in/out of their systems. I also downloaded the update successfully when it was released - I thought that would have been the end of this but apparently not

It's gotta be something on your end not the game or the servers.

I don't know if this will help or not but I had an issue a while back where COD MW2 wouldn't load on my PS3. Every other game worked just not MW2. After doing some research it had something to do with torrents on my PC. Disconnect everything from your internet except your PS3 and see if it works at all. Use your ethernet cable and plug your PS3 directly into your modem. If Dark Souls online works it would have to be something on your PC interfering with your ability to connect to the servers or something to do with your router. If it don't work then it's something to do with your ps3.

A new update was released around Thursday. Patch is now at 1.02. Regardless Invasions aren't all that common. I probably get invaded once every 2 hours or so....

But if you are forced offline from the onset ,then something is likely wrong on your end and no patch is gonna fix it. Can't use the previous games as a basis either. Demon's souls has a different publisher, and Dark Souls used a peer to peer system.

Hm. I'll look into router settings I guess. If all else fails I'll hit up tech support. So weird. No other game, app or device is having any issues

yes. to summon people. you must be human. use human effigy for that. you will see at least 100 summon sign in each level lol. too many players. but you can be invaded in very few places. very few. usually the area before a boss. you can invade people as well in few ares. ofc lol

That doesn't relate here, unfortunately. I know how to do all that sort of stuff, I'm an experienced Souls player. I simply cannot get my game to connect to the internet at all
