Dark souls.....

Is it me or is this game awful? i played it for a couple of hours and it seems so average and generic its untrue.

Can people please tell me the appeal of it........does it get better later on etc etc as i dont want to give up on it as i love fantasy/rpg games.

it may not be your game i give it a 7.0,it's good first few goes,but it's nothing big like what people make of it,it's kinda simple mindless fighting is how i see it and it just has one little lore story that is simple and you can go good or bad this and that few bosses are appealing the pvp is fun and what not,just an overrated game that wasnt worth my 60$ worth about of 30-40

May give it another go later on seens as im in the mood for a fantasy game and my pc has died with skyrim on :(

I thought the game is a solid 8-8.5. To me the combat was engaging and about all responsive. Yeah the narrative on the story wasn't great but t every item had a background story behind it which made the world alive. I do agree the game falters towards the end, but the 2/3 of the game is awesome. Best areas are sens fortress, Anor Londo , Painted World of Ariamis and Duke's archives, after that the game design falters quite a bit. Overall demon's souls is a better game, but dark souls is by no means a mediocre game.

As for op, the game is not for everyone, as it can get boring if you're not in to grinding. I for one think it was a great game.

It's not for everyone, but I personally love it. I doesn't have much in the way of the story, however getting stronger to progress further into the game and collecting souls was something I found very fun.

Great game, one of only a handful that will keep you on the edge of your seat thoughout the whole playthrough.

Im playing it right now actually...had it for about a week now and its pretty good...i dont see why all they hype for it but i do enjoy a challenge i hate games that are easy and hold your hand through it...Its definitely giving me a challenge to get the platinum...id give it 7.5 maybe an 8

Demon's Souls was much better than Dark Souls.

Funny, you found it to be the most average - and I found it to be the most unique. Amazing game, clearly not for everyone.
