Darth Vader and Yoda in SCIV

1up is reporting that Darth Vader and Yoda are in Soul Calibur 4. Zounds! Zounds I say!

Dammit, I had absolutely no interest in SCIV . . . until now! Why did you have to include Darth Vader and Yoda, Namco? I was perfectly happy playing Link in SCII, but now I'll have to buy another one of your silly little fighting games. Thanks for wasting even more of my money, Namco! :evil:

Awesome except Yoda is in the 360 version and Darth Vader is in the PS3 version. I'll be getting the 360 version so that means I'll miss out on Darth Vader which is a bummer. I hope they end up putting the characters up for downloadable content a little while after the game comes out though. Still very cool news and I'm really looking forward to getting this game.Archangel3371

Crap, I didn't catch that. I would've bought it (after a price drop) if both characters were in the 360 version, but not now. Oh well, back to SCII for me! Thanks for saving me money, Namco!

I guess I'm not a big enough SW fan, because I find this kind of lame really. I thought having Link and the other system-exclusive characters was cool in SC2, but Star Wars characters? WTH?

How much money did Namco shell out to Lucasarts just to use Darth Vader?

Forget SCIV. I just want Namco to make aStar Wars fighting game that uses the SCIV gameplay engine. :)

Im getting the PS3 version and I hope Darth Vader has a lot of depth,and hopefully he's balanced compared to threst of the cast. I like the PS controllers more for fighting games than I do with Xbox controllers. But I actually like Arcade Joysticks the most. But unfortunately I dont have on yet.

I won't buy a game just because Vader is in it. Else I'd get SW Masters of Teras Kasi for the PS that has Vader and also lets you use a Tusken Raider. And also sucks.

That makes no sense to avoid it because Namco-Bandai didn't develop that crappy Star Wars fighting game.

This is pure SoulCalibur and if you're familiar with the series, it'll be good. Namco-Bandai could add Barbie and Charlie Brown in it and it will still be an awesome fighting game. And you don't have to use Vader if you don't want to. I'm buying it because of my favorite SC returning characters like Mitsurigi, Sophitia, and Ivy.

Just make an excellent SCIV and then if you feel the need, use the engine to make the Star Wars fighter. That just makes business sense to me, but I'm strange like that. Robio_basic

It's marketing propaganda to draw in western gamers, that's what I think.

I read somewhere that the reason why Namco didn't bring SCIII to multi-platform was because of poor or less than expected sales of SCII. And on top of that, I hear SCIII didn't sell to good.

So SCIV is a huge budgeted game, so having Star Wars characters will make western fanboys drool to buy it. Out of 100 posts I read on this, about 10% hate the idea, but the rest are already saying they're sold.

So it's working.

My thoughts exactly, but still, my inner nerd is too busy doing backflips to notice. This already was my most anticipated game this year, now I get to play with new-gen models of Vader and Yoda as well.

This was probably the only hard disc based game that I was looking forward to buying for the 360 and now it has quickly plummeted into the abyss. I will still buy it because I love the characters in the Soul Calibur series but, I will cringe and puke every-time I run into a Yoda player on-line.

I'm really liking this. I'm sure the fighter fans will cry an ocean. But I love this idea. Its a neat thing, and its not like the game is going to be bad because the character isn't from Namco!!! The game will be bad if it is developed bad, not because of a skin

Sorry, but I don't feel that Vader and Yoda are perfect fits for this game at all, and there's very little that's going to convince me that that this is really the case at all.

What. The. Hell.

They better get Fox to let them use the Alien as a character too. That would be badass.
