Dead Space 2 hardcore question

Does DLC carry over to hardcore mode? Like can I start the game, go to a store, and immediately have all the guns/suits I bought?

I'm pretty sure you can still use your DLC suits/weapons, however starting a new game (that is on a new difficulty) acts as a 'fresh start'; losing all your money, weapons, upgrades etc.

Edit: Oh I see. Well I'd assume if the suits and stuff are 'free' in the store normally, they'll be free on HC mode too.
