Describe your first death in a game of your choosing.

I remember my first death in Fallout 4. I was up in a ruined apartment building introducing ghouls to my double barrelled shotgun. I eventually got to the top where there were some turrets and raiders. I was busy taking out more ghouls and getting ready to take on the turrets. Suddenly, I hear a raider in a power armor frame yell, "you gotta reload some time, asshole!" and then I saw a mini nuke nail me right in the face. The camera panned to my lifeless body. My head was strangely still there but all four limbs were blasted off with blood gushing out everywhere. Then I got a trophy titled "Touchdown". I chuckled.

I couldn't ask for a more memorable first death in that game.

You know, I have no idea why it stands out, but my first death in Mirror's Edge 2 was pretty memorable. I was overall pretty happy with the controls and when I went around a corner and grabbed a pole to do a swing-around to a ledge and *gasp* the ledge I thought was there was not there, I basically plunged down 100 stories.

They pretty much make you feel all 100 stories of that fall, too, iirc.

The new Tomb Raider games have some pretty memorable deaths, too. I remember the first time I died in there and think "Gawwwwwwwwwd DAMN! that was rough" as I was skewered by a sharp-but-not-too-sharp pointy stick. The death scenes were also mildly...erotic, for some reason. No? Just me? OK....

The mention of Tomb Raider instantly made me think of the 2013 reboot and being crushed by a rock early on for screwing up a QTE. Brutal af.

The first truly memorable one was in Super Mario Brothers on the original NES; that first pit in World 1-1. First go, stacked it straight into it. Since then, who knows how many hundreds of deaths in games!

I was playing Dark Souls for the first time. I was going through the Undead Asylum, killing some hollows, when I came into a large, open room. I walked into it, not sure what to expect, and then a fat demon with a bigass hammer dropped down. He then proceeded to sit on me, and I died.
