Just get it on your PC. Its much better, and it will run it on anything. You can buy it for the PC cheaper than you can rent it ;)
Oh, and incase you didnt see my avatar+sig, I'm a big fan of Deus Ex after I played this amazing game earlier this summer for the first time. It really makes me respect people like Warren Spector and Kevin Levine (creator of Bioshock) for gracing the industry with a game that has a storyline a philosipher can get into, and a gameplay style that isnt tacked on or copied.
It is good on Xbox, didn't have any problems. brandon2802
The Xbox version is a different game.
I can't help you because I only played it on the PC, but I don't think you can really go wrong with it on the PS2. Sure it might not be as good, but it's still worth playing IMO.
The PS2 version is okay, but nowhere near as good as the PC version. They dumbed some things down like inventory management, which is annoying if you want to have more of one type of weapon or other item than the slots will allow for. The levels are also cut up considerably to handle the PS2s RAM limitations. It wouldn't have been so bad, but some of the barriers are just odd. Part of the great thing about Deus Ex was the large areas to explore. Not sure why console games have to have barriers instead of an open environment with the occasional floating "loading message" when you get to the end of the zone.
The graphics also look better on the PC version. The PS2's "improved" graphics did look nice at one point (though I don't like some of the new character models like Paul Denton's), but the PC version at a higher resolution looks considerably better.
It's still a great game, despite some of the changes for the console version, but I'd stick with the PC version if you can.
I got a question about the 2nd levl in the demo, when I get in the chopper, the camera falls down onto the antenas?newhenpalI love Deus Ex (on the PC, never played the PS2 version). One of my favourite games of all time. I'd be happy to share any of my tips, but I'm not sure what the question is. That seems more like a statement.

Sorry, I've never played the demo. What's the mission you're doing when this happens?
The one in hells kitchen where you raid a warehouse and destroy the nsf's power generator.
Well, I tried to bring him out when I played but he just got killed. I dont THINK anything happens if he does manage to come out, but I haven't tried so...KorJax
ah..I wanted him to escape too, I saw a vid where he was in unatco so I think its possible, I'll see if it is in my second run of this game playing it halo style.Another question (full of em) why do unatco troopers have those weird 'i've never seen the light of day' look, but in the ps2 version they don't?
