I would like to know how many people here actually had fun in the beta, i didn't and did not see how this game is fun, I mean people are screaming ITS JUST A BETA, ITS NOT THE REAL GAME, well the final game is going to be somewhat or majority like this beta. I mean maybe it was because that metro map was horrible but man it was not enjoyable. You got guys sniping in bushes, your teammates only care about their kill/death ratio and don't even go for the objective. So did you have fun, i know some people did but i just wasn't one of them, so what about you guys and if you did or didn't have fun, explain why. thanks, oh and i swear i don' work for dice hahaha, i'm just really curious

I've had fun with the beta, if only because I've gotten to preview this awesome looking game. I also understand that this is a BETA, not a demo like a lot of people are forgetting, something very different from a demo.

game is amazingly fun though the first map part of rush is boring the tunnels are amazingly fun. My biggest complaint is not enough stuff to blow up.

I had lots of fun, looking forward to the release.

I actually went and pre-ordered it as a result of the beta.

granted it would have been more fun if the friends in my party actually joined the same squad on the same team in the same game as me.
and minus the glitches of course, never seen such a glitchy beta before.

still fun though.

played on xbox btw

I had a lot of fun, mainly because I enjoyed the tactical freedom and sweet weapon changes all the while knowing the full game will be much better.

The problem the game had though is that DICE decided to release an actual beta instead of a multiplayer demo meant to be indicative of the full game (which many games tend to do and call a beta a month before release). This turns off people who don't realize what a real beta is, so even though I enjoyed it, I know its only because this isn't what I expect from the full game.

Plus they really could have given us a map with more vehicles, but for what its worth I really love Metro already.

For a beta, its REALLY good actually. When the actual Medal of Honor beta and Bad Company 2 beta (the one during fall, not the pre release demo that came out a month before in the same state it would release) came out, they were pretty broken and crashed a lot with bugs a plenty. If BF3 really is older code meant to iron out all issues, then the final game must be the best thing ever.

Worst case scenario though, this beta turns out to be a demo with the name of beta and the game releases with some problems as well, only to be fixed through later patching.

I didn't like the outside part of metro since that is where most of the glitches are and snipers get out of control. Once in the tunnels there is always more then one way to get around any person or obstacle. And I wasn't just one of those guys who sat in the corner waiting. I rushed 90% of the time while getting more tactical once I reached an M-Com station. I've heard a lot of people complain there just isn't enough on screen action, but I had games where I went 59-20, 39-10, 30-4, and so on. Maybe people are not used to thinking things through on how to get the jump on someone, unlike some games where the enemies run right into your line of sights every 6 seconds so you don't have to think about how to get a kill. Oh, and if your not having teamwork then your going to lose alot of games, and probably die 10 more times a game then needed. But yeah, it was fun if your playing the right way.

Other than a few graphical glitches I've experienced (I can see through the terrain! Oh look, that bush is stretched out!), and my team not being up to snuff, I had a pretty good experience.

The map is bad, we all know this. It doesn't work well with a normal BF scenario. But I am having a lot of fun. the infantry combat is very good and satisfying when you get used to it and know what you're doing and what you like. I like all the new changes. Except the squad system. They better not f*** it up in the final version. But overall I love the new Battlefield. Can't wait for the game to hit.

P.S. I don't care about the bug as they have never really hindered me much. Still had fun.

I liked it. I see a lot of the problems you had (i.e. team mates only caring about k/d ratio) going away once the true BF fans buy the game and play it online with conquest mode and hardcore mode. Plus, the map for the pc beta was apparently pretty great and the footage of it looks like this will turn out to be a great fps.

I had a lot of fun with it when it was working properly. I loved the animations and gun physics a lot.

I'm not too big a fan of the map but that's because I prefer Battlefield when it has vehicles and all that, although it's the first infantry based Battlefield map I didn't hate with a passion so that's something right?

Played console beta and didn't really have any more fun than anyone would playing CoD. This game is to BadComp2 what MW3 is gonna be to MW2. An almost identical copy with a shinier coat and a new set of weapons. Graphically upsetting for console gamers such as my self who work for a living and don't have time for a PC. Textures weren't my issue. The physics engine is pretty much the same as the last BF game. Walls always chunk out the same (except can't level most buildings now) in an explosion and the hit detection seems just as off as BC2's was. My number one beef was that the game played the same as BFBC2 and DICE/EA promised a breathe of fresh from call of duty but instead decided to fart into my nostrils. I'm still getting both MW3 and BF3 but I'm upset that I'd rather keep on playing Gears with its sawed-off war going on right now.

Hehehe. I love the honesty. :) Cool sig! I had fun for what it was worth. Not the best choice of maps but I'm happy about specific things like hitbox detection being miles better than Bad Company 2's. Great sound design as usual. BETA graphics for PC is locked at Medium and it looks like a very high Bad Company 2 game if not better. I'm wondering how high and ultra looks like. :O

Loving it. Its a much more reaslitic & more hardcore BF than BC2 was.

A lot of cod players jumped ship to BF with the release of BC2 & only because BC2 handled much like a cod game. I have a feeling they are going to be the ones that are going to be shocked by BF3 & will genuinely hate it. This will seperate the real BF fans from the ones that showed up to a series 10 yrs later when the game was codified.

The new animations for mantling & going prone make you pay for what you do. No rambo sh** with this game. For example i ran into the metro station only to be shot by a prone soldier. My 1st instinct was to go prone but with the animation to go prone it leaves me defenseless & cost me my life. I was better off just trying my luck by suppressing/shooting the enemy. I like this. I couldn't get away with changing stances without it effecting me which brings realism to the game.

Things like the ability to see sniper glare, flashlights are disorienting, Knfing is slower & rambo knfing doesnt work, suppresion, recoil & other elements bring more realism & makes the game more tacitical. It solves any cheap issues people have with games. Snipers are not effective at close range, camping with the sniper will give away sniper glare. Now suppression actually means something. Its disoreinting which will take away the enemies chances of killing you while they're under fire.

This all balances out the game, classes & combat. Now if you get killed its almost always because the other guy was legitimately better. You will never die cuz of some unfair game issue, you will die because you made the wrong move or the other guy is legitimately better. When you enter a room with more than one person your chances are very limited. If i had entered a room with 4 enemies in BC2 i could beast through all of them. On BF3 this situation would be much harder & very unlikely.

BF 3 sets itself apart from the bad company series. Im very happy with the changes DICE has made. Hopefully everybody else will too. I will say nobodes going to give up BC2 just because of BF3. They are 2 different kinds of BF & i gurantee most of us will be switching between the 2.

Nope. I absolutely hated the beta. I was bored to tears within 30 minutes of it.

Based on watching YouTube videos of Caspian Border, though, the game is a 100% buy for me, though.

i had fun with the beta mainly because i can get 20 kills 10 deaths per match and plant 5 bombs on MCOM and destroy 2-3 Mcom

what i did not like is the EOD bot's controls, its painful, but i got 5 killstreak with it because enemy dont have an idea of it that it can kill them. same player just keep on coming back just to get killed by the EOD.

thats the fun thing about BF3

I did, but I think that picking metro (with no vehicles) was a mistake by DICE.

1) The infantry combat in BF series is designed to be realistic. But realistic isn't always as fun as being a super hero (like is Halo or CoD) where the guns have no kick. DICE and EA make the infantry combat more difficult to master because it makes the vehicle play more enjoyable.

2) The people who were playing didn't get tired of losing yet. Once the game comes out, people will realize that KDR means nothing in this game and get tired of being whiped out in the first section. Just play BFBC2 and you'll see how much better the teams work.

Just stick with it when the full game comes out. When you grab a tank with IRSMOKE and have an engineer gunner to heal you..... games don't get much better than that.

Hard to decide one way or another as on the one hand I died alot and never seemingly made much headway in levelling up as I never got that much time to get online to play it, but on the other if you and the others on your team work together it can be a really good squad based game.

Probably won't be getting day 1 since this plays like a copy and pasta job of Bad Company 2 and to me that isn't a real Battlefield game. Granted the maps weren't th best but still Rush shouldn't be in a normal Battlefield title at all. Also for the love of god they make on their promise and fix the damn SMG's as the UMP-45 was just a joke in the beta same as the PP-2000 with a red dot.

Honestly I could really see myself just playing the back to karland maps since those are great BF maps and Wake Island never ever gets old no matter if its 1942, Vietnam, BF2 or 2142.

To be fair to the game it was just a beta, the map was really bad and showed none of what battlefield has been good for (vehicles, large maps, making you feel like you're in a huge war zone) but from what I did play of the beta, it was medicore at best. The game will be much better at launch, or so I hope. (I'm talking about the console version btw)

No fun was had in this "beta". Betas don't begin 1 month before the game is released. This was a demo. Expect most of the bugs in this demo to be in the game.

I had fun the very 1st match I played in. Guns felt good. Recoil was great. Knifing was fine.

Then I realized:

1- There was no way I could stay in a squad with my bro or my friends. Matchmaking was terrible.

2- My mike wasn't working even though it was on. I was talking my @#$ off for 10 minutes until I realized no one could hear me. doh!

3- Prone campers everywhere doing nothing concerning the objectives. Very CoD-like.

4- Idiot teammates running around with flashlights (why are you looking my way?)

5- Bugs and visual glitches( I expected them but the amount I came across was ridiculous!)

6- High level dudes(level 30+) spawn camping (This happened frequently in BFBC1 and BFBC2)

7- Zero teamwork. Everyone I played with was a run n gun rambo. No spotting, dropping ammo, etc. It seemed like I was the only one planting and defusing. I got the ace pin just by healing and reviving.

Same here. And dont forget about shooting someone multiple times and they dont die, and the recoil i thought was terrible. It recoiled so much you couldnt hit anyone and if you did bursts it injured them and then they shot you.
