I havent played this game for a few years, although I still have it in my cupboard (never will sell it, as I never do :D). I assume that there must be some of you, maybe quite a lot actually, out there that played this game. If you did, what did you think of it?

I did spend quite a large portion of the PS1 days playing this game. I don't know what was my favourite movie in the game though. I did enjoy the third person game, although I always wished that there was some sort of saving... and I never was able to get by like the third level :(.

There was also the airport one that used the lightgun, which was also awesome but I never got to finish.

Then there was the car one, which I never got ANYWHERE on lol this was also my least favourite of the three in the game but I still enjoyed it because it was like the game I always wanted GTA to be like (also before Driver).

I never finished any of them, but actually saying that I would like to... I really want to see what the rest of the levels are like especially in the third person game.

Lol I also remember the manual for this game being HUGE, regardless of the fact that ithas many different languages. If I remember correctly, it is THE biggest manual for a game that I own and have ever seen. It really did feel like a book when you hold it, no joke :P.

Did you guys enjoy this game and which one was your favourite film in the game to play? does it reflect which movie you most preferred of the three in real life at all if you have watched them? and did you ever complete any?

To be honest, even now I don't think I could finish the car one, it's just way too hard.

But then again, the reason for no saving and them being hard is because really, they feel like arcade games put on a disc (I wonder if they were actually real arcade machine games?)

Yeah, Die Hard Trilogy was a great PS1 title. I played a whole lot of the on-rails shooting game and the one where you run around the building fighting off henchmen.

Yeah I LOVED that game. I enjoyed the shooter one (Diehard 2) the most, even though it doesnt support dual analog controls, and I dont have the light gun. The 3rd-person one (Diehard) was the most fun, and I think the only one that I actually beat. The driving one (Die Hard with a Vengeance) is really tough, but still quite fun. Don't think I have played that game in a while though...... tonight I might just fire it up

I prefer the original Diehard movie and thats why I might like Diehard 3rd person shooting in this game the most. but the shooting on rails on Diehard2 was pretty awesome, even though I dont really care for the 2nd movie.

and FYI, no this game is only on Saturn and ps1. The original Diehard arcade game is only in the arcade and Saturn format. "Diehard Arcade" looks like an awesome game, but I'm not sure if I have ever played it.

fun game. bought it at a funcoland way back when...

the game has the worst voice acting, haha . "I dont like to looooose!" "Mcclaaaaaiiiinnnnn!!!!!"

die hard 1 was fun, i made it about 8 stories in the skyscraper. running and gunning

die hard 2 - reminded me of virtua cop at the arcade.

die hard 3 - that taxi was fast, and their were too many bombs in new yorks streets!

Im sad to say I dislike Die Hard Trilogy, played it originally on the Saturn , which was a terrible port (one of the worse attempts actually) with horrendous slowdown and some shoddy visuals in quite a few places.

the 1st game had control issues, it kinda felt clunky to the point I had issues hitting the enemies (not helped by the sluggish frame rate my version was running at)

2nd game was ok , but again very sluggish, the challenge actually came from the target moving too slow, making it very hard to aim at the enemies. although the level design was not bad at all.

3rd game was probably the best one, it actually ran decently, and was quite fun actually, but it eventually became very repetitive for me . it felt like there was very little thinking involved.

later on I played the PS original at a friend's house, and indeed it ran quite a bit better, though it still felt kind of mediocre for me.

I used to have it for psx and I really loved it. especially die hard 1 and 2. 3 was too hard for me and clueless. but very brutal still using windowscrapers(I don't know what to call them) to get the blood from you windows

yeah the 3rd one had very little plot and had bad handling. but the blood wiping off the windshield using the Windshield Wipers. was kinda funny and gruesome.

I've played it for the Saturn and I felt the difficulty was too steep at times on all 3 "movies." Out of all of them, I did enjoy the first one (3rd person shooter), the most. I'll give it another try, because my early attempts to play the game were in short spurts. I'm sure if I stick with it, I can get over the difficulties.

LOL yes, sorry about that. I also tried the rest of the games you have hanging around! at least put them in a pile or something. Just kidding  Speaking of outrunning the explosion at the end after the timer runs out, I used to always hope that I would always be able to turn around a street and it wouldn't affect me... even after the millionth time  Talldude80 - Ooh right! I never heard of that one and it's interesting that they made an arcadey style game, specifically for the consoles :D. Sportyfamilycar - Haha, what about one of the female hostages saying "help meee!", I always found that funny for some reason :P. Darkman2007 - That's interesting as I don't remember any problems with framerate or control issues (except for the turning in the 1st game, like you said). Talldude80 - I don't know if it's just a personal thing or if it's the way British people call them, but I personally always thought of them and called them "windSCREEN wipers". Not that there's much difference :P. Oh and guys, I remember seeing a few years back that there was actually a Die Hard Trilogy 2 for the PS...2? and 1? I could be wrong I can't remember. But I definately know there was a DHT2. I want it now lol. I think I might actually try and complete the third person one before Christmas. Yeah! :) it shouldn't be too hard now.

thats because the PS1 original ran like it should, the Saturn version I played was pretty crappy, one of the worst ports on the system.

The saturn wasn't very good at 3d games it was better at 2d games than the playstation, the ps1 however was build for 3d games.

meh , that statement is overused so often , its actually quite exaggerated I can assure you , yeah , the PS is overall a better 3D machine, but saying the Saturn "wasn't very good at 3D" is a quite wrong, its not that far off from the PS overall , at least from my experience of the 90 or so games I own for it.

this isn't a matter of capability, its a matter of a rubbish port to the system,, especially considering there are better looking and running games on the system, in fact I would have been quite happy if it looked the same, but ran much better, which it was certainly capable of doing.

a quick look at Probe's library on the Saturn will show they were one of the studios that "didn't get it" so to speak in regards to the coding, they even messed up Mortal Kombat 2 on the system.

I won't get into it any further as its off topic, but thats the truth.

Yes there is a Diehard Trilogy2 (which is a moronic title if you think about it). It's called "Diehard Trilogy2: viva Las vegas" I havent played it, but I see it at my local game store sometimes, I'm tempted to buy it, but really I have MORE than enough ps1 games right now, so I'm just delaying getting it for now. Have any of you guys played it?

I find it interesting that you only completed the driving portion of the game since that was the hardest one (personally) :P but awesome nonetheless :D.

Nice one! :D. I am wondering since I never actually finished any of them as I have mentioned already, but I assume they are pretty short, but how long is each film in the game? I am assuming about half an hour to an hour, considering they are arcadey with no saving? :)

Nice to see that so many people enjoyed the game! :) I am soo tempted to get the ol' game out of the cupboard today :P. How long does the third person one take to complete, by the way? I may wait until sometime after Christmas, but I would love to finally complete that one :D

It was my first PS1 game. I didn't enjoy the second part because you really needed the light gun or the mouse (and I didn't, and still don't, have either). I liked the first and third parts because to me they were actually fun. I don't see why some people didn't like part 3 because once you get to grips with the controls, it's amazing. Oh and the game does have a save function, but the devs hid it deep in the options menu.
