Other than the fact that in mag you can have 200+ players what are some differences between the games? want to know if it is worth it to get it.

lol. MAG isn't popular around here. I think i'm the only one here who bought the game.

Anyway, MW2 is a Deathmatch oriented game, kill or be killed. At least that's my perception of it. MAG on the other hand is more objective oriented. It wants you to play as a team instead of going lone wolf. You are expected to go defend, attack or repair objectives instead of just hanging back and sniping. The game encourages this by giving you double XP for every kill, revive or repair if you're in the vicinity of your current objective. Unlike MW2, there is zero reward for going on killstreaks. If you do go on a kill streak, you get this cool soundtrack that starts playing, but that's about it. Again, everyone is supposed to revive each other and have the medic gun with him. If you dont believe in team based shooters, this game is not for you.

Hope this helps.

P.S you do get Air Strikes and stuff, but only when you become a squad leader, but that's after level 15 or so. It took me around 4-5 hours to get to level 15, but that's because I got a lot of kills in the double XP zones. If you're a good squad leader and assign tasks for your squad to complete, then you get leadership points that help you become a Squad leader more often. Once you have enough leadership points, you become a Platoon leader (better Air Strikes), and then finally an Officer in Command. You dont get any cool Air Strikes with you become an OIC, but you do get to lead 128 players, and your own set of abilities. Of course, communication is king when you become a Squad leader or a Platoon leader or an OIC, so it's imperitive you have a mic. Especially when you're an OIC.

Quality, thats pretty much it. MW2 is refined and has experience, and MAG is an IP thats pretty laggy (imo).

MAG is just an awful version of COD with more to do with editing, if someone gave it to me for free id feel like i'm getting ripped off.

if your like the battlefield games your may like mag.

For all the mw2 fanboys. Mag is not MW2.

Its more of a 256 player rip off of a battlefield game then mw2.

Don't compare MW2 to MAG. They try for different things. MW2= Arcade-style (regenerating health, over-the-top killstreak rewards) with good graphics and small maps. MAG= more of a sim (must be healed to regen health, realistic objectives) with a large player count and actual teamwork required.

MAG is more mature in my opinion. You actually have to work together to win. Alot of people think S.V.E.R is over powered becouse they always win, but the truth is they have the most team work. Valor and Raven are filled with little kids that can't think in terms not rambo that choose those factions becouse they look "cool" and "Futuristic". The whole objective based gameplay (besides CTF or TDM) escapes most children, so they gravitate to the simple mindless violence of COD:MW2

COD:MW2 = Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

MW2 = Mechwarrior 2

get it right people!

MW2 is about a player. Your goal is to kill, you win by getting headshots, kill streak, K/D ratio ect. (All these mean proximately nothing in MAG. ) MAG is about a team. You goal is to destroying enemy objectives and protect friendly objectives (bunkers, gates, anti-air batteries etc), you win by cooperating with your squad mates to take the FRAGOs MW2 is like an arena, if you shine, you win; MAG is like a war, if you do teamwork, you win.
