I will always prefer Blu-ray over digital, simply because the sound is way better. So when it comes to games i have always preferred a physical copy, but i last purchased Overwatch via digital download, only because i was too lazy to got to the store and then wait for the download,

Im about to purchase Battlefield 1 and dont know if its worth it getting the physical copy. Has anyone had any experience on physical sounding better than digital?

There is absolutely no difference in sound from a blu-ray to a digital, it's the same content.

I think you may experience nostalgic , like with people who say old LP´s sound better than digital.

You do not need a source for common sense and simple logic.

That is so incorrect.

I have a 7.1 system and can 100% notice the difference on blu ray. The sound just has way more punch. Take the movie Ex Machina for example. Horrendous sound on digital download, amazing on blu ray.

You should have a read of this

http://hometheaterreview.com/why-blu-ray-is-still-better-than-streaming-today/

Streaming will compress the audio for the sake of download speed etc. With blu ray there is no compression.

You are talking about 2 different things now.

Digital copies are not streaming.

So are we talking Streaming vs Physical copies or is it Digital copies vs Physical.

And there are 0 difference on sound coming from a digital copy stored on your HDD compared to a copy stored on a blu-ray

Sorry mate but you are imagining things.

If you take 2 identical copies 1 you download and 1 you buy on blu-ray , there are 0 difference on sound quality.

Like the other guy said, streaming and digital download are very different. If you stream something like on Netflix, VS playing a digital version (downloaded on a HDD)or Blu-Ray you may notice a quality difference. However, when you digitally download a game(or movie), you download the EXACT same files that are on the Blu Ray. Whereas a stream compresses it and sends it by bit to your system, a digital download is uncompressed and exactly the same format as it would be on the disc. Just to clear it up a little bit further.

Ahh all good

And then yes we can definitely agree that streaming is not the same quality. Streaming still have some way to go, like internet connections.

It all about how the sounds is stored. I heard that records have the best sound quality of all storage median.

You mean LP´s ?

But ya some people say that, but it´s far from the truth, it's more an idea of the noise on a LP is better for the human ear compared to the crystal clear sound from a digital copy.

@Jacanuk:

It's more about the way the music is mastered. CD and digital downloads usually have the dynamics squashed to death so they sound good on headphones, in cars or other noisy environments.

Vinyl usually has a more dynamic master and sound much smoother for it.
