The first big disappointment in a long time, for me. Is Assassin's Creed. So much about that game is slack and horrible. It's like the studio just came up with a flawless free-running engine, slapped on a price tag and sat back. Because they knew it would sell. By pure flash and hype, alone.
Yes the climbing is amazing, yes the movement is flawless. Yes the world is detailed and awsome. BUT!!! The combat is so cheap and weak. You can't ever die. The side quests are meaningless and ridiculously easy. You just analog hump some AI, then tap a button. The investigations are absurdly simple. Like just sit on a bench. The story just hurt my head. The sci-fi aspect was like torture. Just tossed in so they can **** it to death, for money. Forced to walk around in this room, while two people yap about something I don't care about. If they are going to make me watch a CS, then make a damn CS. Not that horrible illusion of an event, with a tease of movement/control.
The AI in assassin's creed... wow... Can't believe how stupid they are. The game has zero challenge. Once you master the game mechanics you can blast through in a few hours. Each one is the same. Each kill is the same, every quest is the same...
Then there is the architecture. There are only about 3 or 4 types of tall structures to climb. They are just repeatedly used to death over and over again, and painted or decorated differently. You climb for about 30 minutes, and you've climbed everything. You just analog hump your way to the top. My dog can beat this game.
That aside, the scenery is amazing and the movements are seamless. I just feel that they sold one polished up gaming aspect, with a bunch of crap tacked on. Hence the hot chick "producer" running around talking it up. hint hint...
Flash aside, Assassin's Creed is grade A crap!
