I know this game scored 9.0 out of ten which is pretty high but I don't feel like it gets talked about much for what it is.

It took me along time to beat the original campaign because I took my time and searched everything and played it the stealth way. Alot of waiting and hiding.

Currently I have gone back to it (after beating the game when it first came out) to download the Knife of Dunwall DLC and im reminded of how awesome this game is. In two weeks, another DLC with be coming out and im pumped for that.

They did a really good job with this DLC. And other game developers should take note.

I feel the game is so versatile. Im trying to think about what other games have similar gameplay but nothing comes to mind. Wish more games were like this.

So many ways about going through the world. Stealth or guns blazing. I mean what other game can you turn into a rat and climb through vents and infiltrate a building undected. Side missions, alot of exploration, different paths, beautiful graphics and setting.

Anyways just wondering if you guys liked it, what you thought of it and if you haven't played it yet, you should check it out. It's like 20 bucks right now and you will not regret it.

I really like it. I'm currently playing it through for the third time and it continues to impress.

My only issue with the game being that characters are about as one dimensional as they come, and the overall story is fairly predictable. I would have liked Corvo to have been more than a silent protagonist since he had a lot of potential. I've been meaning to pick up Knife of Dunwall but I haven't gotten around to it.

Having only rented the game, the time I had with it wasn't really impressing. I found it to be quite boring actually.

Perhaps it's because I went the "kill no one" route, which can take some fun out of a game that promotes interesting ways of dispatching enemies.

Im making my first playthrough right now actually and its a great game. The stealth feels good, but the hand to hand combat is kinda dull. Especially if you are surrounded by enemies. Combat feels like it could be better.

But I really like exploring around looking for everything in each level. Awesome game overall.

Good game, but could have been better. One problem I had with Dishonored was that it tells you outright that you have to be nonlethal and merciful to get the best ending, but doing so requires you to only use choke-holds or tranquilizer darts for the entire game. This also meant ignoring all the cool toys that the game constantly reminds you that you could be using. Deus Ex: Human Revolution was a game with a similar design philosophy, and it offered much more variety in non-lethally dealing with enemies, so there wasn't any real excuse for Dishonored to be so limited. Also, the shallow plot and characters didn't do the unique setting any favors at all. Still, the rest of the game was well put together and allowed for plenty of ways to get to your objective. If I didn't have any hang-ups about killing people in a game where killing is optional, I would've given it a second playthrough.

I'm hoping Arkane eventually gets around to a sequel. They've got some real potential with what they've already made.

I really love the game.  I think the alternate paths give the game a lot of replay value, despite a pretty short campaign.

I was pissed though cause I tried to do the "Kill no one and don't get spotted" achievement but somehow I didn't get it.  Even though I made sure it said 0 deaths at the end of each level, and I'm sure nobody ever spotted me...

Oh well, definitely one of the best ways to play the game nonetheless.

Did you kill a dog? That counts but it won't show up under the results screen.

Good ending? What? There are multiple endings? I'm well on my way to ge the worst ending because i kill anything that moves. Even some civilians that call guards.

It tells you in one of the tutorial screens (and I think one of the loading screen messages) that not killing people results in a less dark ending.

Thats stupid!!! I hate games that give you cool ways to kill people, but punishes you to do so. Also I hate playing and not killing people. So I guess ill just the bad ending and be done with the game. That kinda lowered my outlook on Dishonored.

I actually went through the first mission/level a couple days ago. The very little I've played of it so far was alright and enjoyable enough.

The all stealth is super boring. Only one path and the story isn't enough to play the game that way. So glad I went crazy and killed everyone on the first playthrough then went stealth 2nd time around.

It was pretty good, average plot and good gameplay. Artstyle was fantastic, and the Kinfe of Dunwall wasn't too shaby either.

It's a stealth game with wasted potential.

The firt mission was okay, but the second mission was so boring that I never touched it again. Although I may give the game another go.

Game is really good as far as level design and as a be sneaky to kill everyone type of game. Non lethal stealth isn't fun though.

A: Because you get to miss out on half the toys you have

B: You can blink, freeze time, possess people with basically no penalty. So it's really easy to play that way. Oh and you have that vision thing.

Otherwise really good game, great aesthetic, and an interesting but ultimately underdeveloped universe.

i know its supposed to be a great game and i like the concept of being able to pick how you kill your enemies, but the game just doesn't have anything to draw me in.

in that relative time period

halo 4 had online multiplayer and it was a series i always loved

borderlands 2 had lots of rpg elements, humor and color

far cry 3 had a great open world

bioshock infinite had a great narrative

so dishonored missed the boat.

i'd get it for $5 on steam though

I really liked it. I played it as a mix of stealth and combat and so didn' t get bored at all. Tried to keep the killing for those I deemed to deserve it and spare others(including guards). Things sometimes and didn' t go as planned and so I was forced to kill(I didn' t load a previous saved game when shit happened). I also really loved the atmosphere - amazing work on their part.

I really liked it. Had'nt played anything stealth-related for a while so it was a great change of pace at the time. Loved all the powers you could use and tinkering around with certain combos for either infiltration or combat.  I actually finished the game full-stealth (never spotted, no kills) the first time around as I happen to like doing that sort of thing. When I return to it, I'll kill everybody.

Story was lacking, but I'm a gameplay man first and foremost, so I did'nt mind. For what it was, I thought it was okay. Great game overall. Glad I made the purchase.

Nope. And I made sure not to kill those zombie-like guys either because I heard they also negated it.

I finished the game and really enjoyed it. I was very enamored with the game's steampunk influences, I found the stealthing/combat very enjoyable and satisfying, and I loved the game's subtly intricate design, giving you many options in regards to completing your objectives. Definitely a must play.

If you have a both checks at the end of each level you'll get the associated achievements. You can't let the guy at the end spot you either.

If it didn´t give you the No kill/no dectection in the end, then you must have killed something and have been spotted. Because i havent heard of a bug with those archivements, there are only one level where it can seem like a bug and thats on the granny rags level.

I thought Dishonored was excellent. The stealth, visual style, and overall flexibility when completing missions and navigating the world was really impressive. I've yet to play the DLC but will do soon. Overall I'd rate Dishonored 9/10.

The DLC was better than the main game but still has a lot of untapped ideas. If the next DLC is even better the sequel could be really good.

I am a stealth guy, so I loved it. Very few stealth games add anything to the mix, and the blink teleportation in Dishonored really moved the genre into some interesting places that I hope to see more of in future titles. The last time I remember something as significant as blink in the genre was octocammo in MGS4.
