Those sorts of things are just smoke and mirrors. Unless you read consistently positive feedback, don't trust a licensed game.
Ironman was just a bad game for a bad movieToriko42
Are you sure? Because the early buzz is that the film is pretty solid.
The game is...okay. The demo convinced me that it would be a decent 20 dollar purchase, nothing more.

The shame is that with a little more time, many of these games could be much, much better but since the developers rush the titles to coincide with the release of the films they end up being shallow experiences.
Last year I bought the Pirates of the Caribbean game on the XB360 and while it's a passable title it could have been so much more. The game is graphically gorgeous but overly simplistic and in many ways a shameful waste of assets. The same could be said of the Transformers game.
The only reason I'm hoping the upcoming Incredible Hulk game will be good is because it looks like they borrowed heavily from Hulk: UD, which would make it worth playing with snazzy new graphics.
But yes, most of these licensed games are all gloss, no substance.

I think it's going to be awful and another cheap Marvel cash in to be honest. We'll have to see how the reviews goI see all these great screen shots of the game on all systems except for wii. i was hoping theyd be pretty good. But no supriise the graphics were crappy.Tchacker
The game disappoints you? Wait till you see the movie and another messed up superhero. Just the teaser trailer makes me want to run away where there are no theaters in sight.

Every review I've read thus far claims the film is an incredibly literal and well-made adaptation.
We'll see soon enough.
Iron Man currently has a %95 rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Looks like Hollywood made a pretty good superhero adaptation for Marvel.
I hope it does well in the box-office. I'm hearing analysts saying GTAIV will chip away at Iron Man's opening weekend.
Also, does anyone think Robert Downey Jr. is a good Tony Stark? At first I wasn't so sure but the more I see him in the Iron Man costume and remember his acting talent, I think he's a pretty good choice. A little goofy, but still a good choice. At least he got that snobbish, billionaire esque about him. And he knows humor so some of the jokes, cynical remarks, and sarcasim will be good.
I want to see this movie for sure.
Also, you know the game will always suck or be average at best. Games are made just to cover some of the budget cost that goes into movies. No joke. Michael Bay said that about the Transformer's game. That's why the games will always have the Ubisoft mentality. To fund their bigger projects. Sad, really. Because some of these Marvel and DC characters can be great premesis for awesome games.
Well, at least it's published by Sega...if that means anything. :|
So far their calling the Iron Man movie the grand opening of the summer blockbuster season like the Spider-Man movies were before it (of course it won't hit the sales mark but then again Iron Man isn't as famous)
I really haven't heard anything bad about the movie so already it's a big success in my book

Yeah, it sucks. It probably won't get the success like Batman Begins or Spider-Man. Iron Man is a hundred times better than Spider-Man 3, but it probably still won't cut even half of the box-office revenues Spider-Man 3 got.
I always got the impression that Iron Man was never really a popular book or character. He was always enjoyed in a team like the Avengers or The Ultimates. When I use to collect a lot of comics back in the day, I never would pick up a Iron Man series. But I would always pick up Spider-Man, Wolverine, Batman, Superman, or Captain America.

I ventured into the Iron Man comics when I was a kid but I quickly learned that they were false advertising. I'd see a cover with the Mandarin doing something terribly awesome over a beaten Iron Man then read the book to find out that the whole issue is just Tony Stark complaining about his heart and the Mandarin has a cameo in the end 4 panels.
[QUOTE="smerlus"]The demo seemed all right if it wasn't for the terrible controls (360). Looks like a discount title for meHiResDes
Yeah the controls were extremely funky and some of his movements looked downright awful, they were both clunky and hilarious at the same time.
I saw the movie last night and now I can see why the controls were so clunky... All that information coming at Tony Stark all at once.
