These were highly anticipated games but I don't hear anyone really talk about them anymore.

Anyway, here they are:

1. SoulCalibur 4

2. Ninja Gaiden II

3. Condemned 2

4. Halo 3

5. Left 4 Dead

6. Devil May Cry 4

And maybe a few others I'm missing out on.

Well I was going to start a topic about it but since you brought it up, people hardly talk about ANY game nowadays after months from being released. Talking about a three months old games is old news now. I'm not talking about online games. I blame games for being similar and unoriginal.

Out of all those I say Ninja Gaiden 2 and Devil May Cry 4 for me. Ninja Gaiden 2 was relentlessly difficult like the first game but unlike the first game in all the wrong ways, enemys have too much life, have cheap aerial attacks that are hard to evade, spam you offscreen with rocket launchers (that shoot like 6 at a time) where you cant see them, the camera is constantly in your way making things worse, your magic attacks are weak, the bosses are a whole new level of ridiculous and the game is horrible, horrible, horrible. Devil May Cry 4 was more like an emo sexual experimentation than a game with a lamer than lame main protaginist and sloppily designed gameplay that literally had you run through half a game than retread the same game in backwards order. Not only that but you refought all the bosses you previously beat. Awesome. Unlike Ninja Gaiden this game was also too easy, had a nonsensical story with some stupid characters and was one of the biggest dissapointments of the year. God Of War II is still king of the action game in my opinion.

For me Halo 3, the only thing I find fun is the co-op.

SCIV to me was a let down. I sold my copy of the game because I just can't stand to play it. There's just too much added crap to the game that shouldn't be in a fighter. I'm not interested in creating my own fighter. As much as I love Star Wars, though we all know Star Trek pwns Star Wars, I wasn't thrilled that Namco decided to add Siths and a Jedi into the game. I also don't care for that Soul Tower mode or whatever it was called.

There was just too much stuff in the game that just totally distracted from what SCIV was supposed to be, a fighter. Thank goodness that I got HD Remix on both platforms. SFIV is just around the corner as well.

SoulCalibur 4ASK_Story

No, not at all. Creating your own characters is fun, but the game is more for casual gamers than for people who expect a great balanced beat em up.

Condemned 2ASK_Story

It was way different than I thought I'd be. I enjoyed the game, but don't buy it...you can play through it in a few hours.

I can't comment on the other games, because I never played them, but Army of Two was a let down for me. Just a bad game...

i don't think any of those games were a disappointment. in fact, i thought ng2 and halo 3 and dmc4 were VERY GOOD. left 4 dead i don't have an opinion on because i have not played the full game. one game that i thought was disappointing was hellgate london. i am pretty easy to please so it's rare that i find a game i don't like.

I thought that Soul Calibur 4 and Left 4 Dead were two of the best games to come out recently to be honest.

I only died once in my first DMC4 playthrough. Once. Since the game makes you fight every boss like 20 times during one playthrough, it has very limited replay value. If you're going to make a game that is way too easy and that doesn't have replay value, the least you could do is to let the player pick a decent difficulty setting without having to unlock it. Huge disappointment, considering how awesome DMC3 is.

None of those games really disappointed me a whole lot, I found them all to be excellent. I haven't played Left 4 Dead yet but I did find the demo to be great. DMC4 may have let me down just a wee bit though with the whole backtracking aspect. Other then that it was still a great game. EDIT: The multiplayer in Condemned 2 didn't turn out as hot as I was hoping but still was a game I enjoyed very much.

I don't think any of the games on that list were disappointing and most of them were well recieved despite the typical cynics you get with every game released,

The reason why talk about them is short-lived is because theres so many games to discuss, before all the talk about the games go as far as they can another highly anticipated game comes out dieing down talk on the older titles.

And maybe a few others I'm missing out on.

1. I admit this was huge disappointment (at least for me) The single player mode was shallow. All the DLC is straight rip-off. Also the balance between characters are not solid as other 3D fighters like Virtua Fighter. The way I rate fighting games is by doing the "Am I willing to be hardcore" meter. SoulCaliber unfortunately doesn't fill that meter at all. Also, why the **** does a fighting game built from console in mind from ground up has one of the least proper control scheme for controller? If it was arcade design in mind, I'd understand but that's not the case. 2. Never cared. Itagaki I personally think is one of the most overrated game designer EVER. His game may be technical in terms of gameplay (although there is that least technical fighting game series called Dead or Alive) but his games are soul-less 3. Can't make much comment because I'm not into FPS. 4. Same as above. 5. Same as above, but I think it's because the game is too darn short. If it's short, there isn't much to talk about. 6. It's because Devils May Cry 4 sucks. Solid game-play mechanics (meaning re-used from the old game) is wasted by poor level design and uninteresting story.

1. No, I played the heck out of it and for the most part had a great time. The upper floors of Tower of Lost Souls were kinda horrible and story mode was way too short, but overall I really liked this game 2. Hmm, yes and no. It's obvious there were some problems with this game and at times it was more frustrating than fun, but you don't realize until you stop playing it how much you miss the speed and action of the combat. I would lean towards saying it was somewhat disappointing because it wasn't on the same level as NGB or NG1 but it wasn't a total flop. 3. Didn't play it 4. No, not really. It wasn't the mindblowing spectacular finale that some might have expected, but outside of the horrible, horrible Flood chapter of the campaign I thought it did mostly everything well 5. Haven't played it outside of the demo but I liked the demo and haven't heard many bad things about it 6. Maybe a little bit. Reviews lowered my expectations, so I wasn't as let down by the game's shortcomings. It had its moments; I thought The Savior boss fight was the best of the year (out of what I've played, that is... haven't played MGS4 yet, which I imagine has some good ones), and once you acquire all the moves and weapons, Dante and Nero can do some pretty cool crap. It was fun to play. The game had way too much recycling though; I think most people would agree with that.

I love Left 4 Dead and Ninja Gaiden 2. I like Halo 3. I hate the rest of the games. It seems anything and everything gets hyped anymore. It's a sad state in gaming when Soul Calibur is getting so hyped. Easily one of the worst fighting franchises. I even hated the franchise as a Sega Dreamcast fanboy.

dmc4 was a big disappointment. it wasnt from it being a bad game (as it wasnt), it was from it being purely mediocre. dmc3 was frankly the best of the dmc/gow/ng/hs action games and id expect its sequel to atleast be competent in copying what made the original great. so many parts of the dmc3 formula were just stripped out. none of dante's weapons were more appealing than the sword he starts out with. the backtracking was done all wrong (dmc3 had an almost metroid-like pacing in that you went through a level, got an item, and that item opened up a path prior in the level. dmc4 was simply just going straight through the same level again). the difficulty (and subsiquently the reward for doing well) was greatly diminished.

all of these things were done so well in dmc3, that im astonished that they couldnt get them right in dmc4. and its not like they set out to reinvent the franchise and make something truely fresh. they were dead set on rehashing dmc3 and couldnt even match their prior work. dmc4 looked pretty good and had a cool online scoreboard feature, but handled not so well in other areas.

Man where have you been. lol But I got to admit that Soul Calibur 4, NG2 and Condemned 2 get little forum time. And I wish people would talk about my favorite 360 game, DMC4, more.

Condemned 2, while far from being a bad game, disappointed me a bit. I didn't really like the "combo" system and I felt the story was flushed down the toilet. It was too much of a FPS.

I just have Ninja Gaiden fatigue to be honest. I hated SC 4. I was always a very casual SC player but spent quite a bit of time on SC4.

Out of them all, only counting the one's I've tried. SoulCalibur 4 Yes it is a good fighting game, Yes the character customization is great. However Story mode is only 5 stages, and unlike the previous one this one didn't really have an "Adventure mode" which I loved. For playing with friends it is a great game, for playing alone it's downright horrible in comparison to the previous ones.
