I am not sure, maybe some day

yeah. Street fighter II used to be extremely popular. still has fan-base, but not as big. Super smash fan base was decent-sized. now its barely talked about. Halo was probably the biggest FPS to date, and now COD has basically replaced it. Same thing will happen to WoW. i already see it. they really don't have as many active players as they advertise, anyway.
Personally - I cant stand MMO's..I've tried EQII and WoWand ** Star Wars Galaxies- I just cant seem tokeep interest.
However, i am looking forward to the NEW "Star Wars" MMO that's supposed to come out whenevers...?
On that bet - unfortunately,Im sure- not all the WOW players are as big of fans as Star Wars as they are say. . . . Lord of the Rings??
Popular, maybe. Prestigous,I dont think of that as an apt word for WOW since I think it is nowhere near the pinacle of gaming.mattykovaxThat's pretty much what I was thinking. Prestigious doesn't really fit...
The people who played Ultima Online, Everquest, and StarWars Galaxies pondered the same question before the games that came after them.
Of course a new MMO will come along and replace WoW. Before WoW it was Everquest that was the king of MMOs. And before EQ there was Ultima Online. The only question is when WoW will get topped, not if. Depending on how SW:TOR turns out I think that could supercede WoW as the biggest MMO on the market. But even if it doesn't, rest assured that another game will sooner or later
I do. Gamers like to jump on the next big thing, and if said big thing is done right, the last big thing falls into decay.
Most deffinatly. WoW has pretty much run it's course, due to many drawbacks. Lack of balance, un needed nerfs and buffs to wrong races and ****s, buggy patches, making the game WAY too easy to level a toon. The introduction of Death Knights....They need to STOP ripping off D/D. DK's are a weaker version of a Blackguard which is also too easy for a WoW player to obtain, and to furter mention, they compete with Paladins and Warriors for gear. Once a new MMO comes out with better raiding, PvP balance, and a wider range of PvE lands, they will destroy WoW. Which at this point I couldn't care less. I quit WoW months ago.
WoW is many things, but prestigious is not one of them.
think about it, it's looked down upon by both the hardcore and the casual gaming audiences

From watching the game change for 5yrs, it's only become a past time for annoying pre-teens, who want an easy game with like minded kids.

I wouldn't call WoW unbalanced. It's only unbalanced to the people who don't like the changes, which in turn brings in all the unneccessary nerfs and buffs.
