have you broken any controls over something like this?viewtiful26
I have broken a controller, a PS1 Dual Shock, after conceding a cheap goal in FIFA 2001. I also smashed a Ninja Gaiden Tiger handheld in frustration.
I'm a mindless troglodyte :(
when i was playing GTA IV and i failed a mission and had to return to the hospital on the other side of the city and then drive back to the start, i got flustered because that game had too much driving from one place to the other.
i get competitive sometimes. Either when I simply cbf thinking or I just wanna finish a game. I think most people get competitive because they want to finish a game, but lately i've been better,
No. Not even Mega Man 9 or Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn make me angry or upset.

Whoa, what!? Even THOSE games haven't angered you!? :o
In call shenanigens! :x
Only when it's over and over and over and over again at the same spot. I hate spending and hour to do something that takes 5 minutes when it's done right. That gets frustrating; Hence my extreme distaste for Jak 2. ebbderelict
LOL!! dude, my friend had the same problem with Jak 2. He got so pissed one time that he took the game outside and started stepping on it. Kindda like the movie "office space" except with a disk instead of a computer.

Lol...I had trouble with Jak 2 as well. I guess it was because it had a stricter checkpoint system. Anyway, I still kept on coming back hoping that I would eventually win!
I think I got through about 2 SNES controllers when I used to play Street Fighter 2. If I lost, I snapped them in half on my leg. On the third controller, I didn't fancy buying a new one, so I just taped it up. I had anger issues I think.
Now, I have a better outlet, I throw the controller onto the back of the sofa, it rebounds onto the beanbag opposite. Its a win/win, I vent frustration without damaging anything.
I don't get as angry as I did, but there's a few frustrating moments in TFU.
I will yell profanities and get close to throwing my controller but I never have... my friend on the other hand threw his controller at his TV and proceeded to flail wildly at me when I beat him 5-0 in NHL08 the other day.Dill-ManThat reminds me. My little brother used to get angry at me everytime I beat him since he's the better gamer and usually doesn't lose. (He almost always slaughters me in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Halo/2) The most I've been angry during a game was fighting over controllers with my little bro.
I never get mad but that kind of reaction seems unnatural for hardcore gamers. The closest I get to angry is getting annoyed when I have to restart an entire level (or sometimes game) but it seems like every other gamer says he throws his controller into the wall and breaks everytime he can't get past a part within the first few tries. Is this true or just a myth? I can't seriously be one of the only people who enjoys a great challenge more than anything else in games.gunswordfist
Myth. It's not that I wouldn't be able to afford many controllers but I simply bash the ground or the couch I'm sitting on if I get really frustrated.
Loads on Football Manager 08, you don't have much control over the players during the match other than simply setting tactics for them to abide by.. alot of swearing and lines like "You'll never play for this team again!" ensue.
Sometimes I get angry at myself for not doing good enough even when I win.
During FIFA09 (I'm noticing a pattern in sports games here..) I won the game but I really wanted to get a hattrick with a player who had already scored two goals and throughout the last few minutes of the match I simply could not get the ball at all. If i even barely touched the opposition they'd fall down and win a freekick wasting more time. I threw a small wooden stand across the room making a massive crack down the leg of it. Luckily I had moved my drink earlier.
If I think a game is being unfair, the anger starts to come out.
I absolutely hate when I lose a sports game where I outshoot an opponent by a large amargin and can't come up with a win.Nifty_Shark
You do realize the purpose of golf is to have less strokes, right? That might be your problem. :P

 I guess I left myself open for that one. Actually I played some real golf yesterday. Think I had 102 strokes on 18 holes which for me is good.

LOL I think you are being too hard on yourself.

I don't think anyone smashes their controller to shreds every time they die, but most of the time if I play a game I end up punching an inanimate object. The rage is real.
i shout at the screen. then i sigh and let the controller fall from my hands. if its affected me a lot i don't play it again for a while.
