Well I consider the review score to be only part of a review so depending on how I feel on the actual review itself and how the game received the score that it got then I’ll still try a game if I find that it interests me enough.

Only use sites like Metacritic for context in gaming conversation whether people are making false info, or demonstrating a clear bias to null the quality of another game of the same genre to another. Reviews can be, in-informative themselves that's why looking at them as a collective has more value. If thirty people are making the same statement chances are that's true.
Only time I tend to waver on overall reviews are those graphical impressive games (God of War/Red Dead 2/ Last of Us/ etc) tends to blind reviewers of the gameplay flaws, some of which gloss over it. As they're too busy admiring textures/ lighting/ horse *********/ poly-count. It's kind of shocking how shallow the gaming media is at times.
On topic, just to start off most my hyped games are pre-ordered well before reviews, for my personal enjoyment the game only needs cater to my taste and understand reviews in general are suppose to cater for everyone or the reviewers preference. The latter seems obtuse but whatever_
So with that, here is a few that couldn't even crack over 70 on the site-
War for the Overworld (65)
OneeChanbara Z2 (57)
Armored Core: For Answer (64)
Zero: Black-Haired Shrine Maiden (67)
Taiko no Tatsujin (70)
Putty Squad (38)
Siren: New Translation (70)
Metal Wolf Chaos (63)
Kirby's Great Suction Offensive (69)
Mother Russia Bleeds (70)
Demento (67)
Minna de Spelunker (56)
*Ironically I can fire up any of the above games and have a good time. Some I even question the reliability of scoring. Though that's just my opinion.
When Left Alive scored lower than 40 in metacritic, hardcore Square-Enix fanboys bought it ANYWAY
When Hatred scored lower than 30 in metacritic, hardcore racist, far-right neo-nazi scumbags bought it ANYWAY
Someday if Yandere Simulator officially released, I wouldn't be surprised people bought it ANYWAY despite having no official reviews.
Internet, especially social media already destroyed the influence of video game critics. Some unscrupulous developers already take advantage of this.
Or do you only play anything that get's a 90 or higher? Some of my favorite games I didn't know had such a low score. I personally give them all at least an 80/100.
Critics ratings usually don't factor into my purchasing decisions. I'll watch footage, read what the community has to say and generally wait for a sale.
Some of my favorite games are 7-ish in score. Sometimes a developer will create a gameplay mechanic that will hook me enough, even tough the rest of the game is passable at best.
Mostly just play what I think looks interesting. Couldn't honestly tell you what ratings the games I play have.
In the old days, as a youngster i'd take reviewers and stuff like metacritic as gospel, now I don't.

Don't overlook the power of curiosity.
I mean, didn't you buy Anthem "ANYWAY" because you like Bioware?
Exact same thing.
No, I absolutely don't care about their critics. They also gave a games like FIFA 18, FIFA 19 and probably FIFA 20. Even now PES 20 has a rating of 84, even the gameplay online is full of bugs and glitches. On Spielepedia or Spielkult.com you will find many examples. On the subreddit people are extremely mad.
