I don't hate him I just think he sucks.

I really dislike the design. I always found the artists at Ninja Theory to be good but they failed on this design IMO.

Yeah I feel they did the characters in enslaved pretty well, although the facial animations matchign up with their words are not the best.

I don't hate him, nor do I even dislike him. He looks like a pretty cool character in my opinion. But if you ask me which Dante I prefer, I'll have to say the old Dante. But the old Dante is my favorite video game character of all time, so that's a really unfair comparision. I even bought a hand painted Dante figure for over 100 bucks. That's how much I love the old Dante. But the new guy seems pretty cool. I'm going to give him the chance he deserves. Honestly, I'm getting sick of seeing all this hate. People are WAY too resistent to change. If a hardcore Dante fan like me can accept this, there's no reason why the rest of you can't.

I half agree with this. I am not saying I support the change, but I don't think its anywhere near as bad as some make it out to be, and he might develope throughout the story as well.

Honestly, diehard fans are some of the scariest people I have ever met in my life. It makes me feel sorry for developers. Make a wrong change, and you start getting death threats in the mail. They are scary as hell.

i dont think capcom is goign to allow this i mean no one like it , is too soon for a reboot and the game is good everyone like it , what are we going to see mario emo now ?

I honestly don't like the smoking either. It's especially funny since the creator of Devil May Cry was opposed to Dante smoking, and after he leaves the company, the very next DMC game: Dante smokes. lol But it's nota major issue, and since this Dante is a completely different Dante (I really don't think it's a prequel) then it's fine. I'm not judging him by the standards of the old Dante, I'm judging him as a brand new protagonist.

Lol me neither. I still need to play through all the DMC games. The first one I played through a lot of was DMC2 which I hear is the worst one, but I loved it at the time. Now I tried playing 1, and in some ways its great, in others not so much. I love the vibe the game gives though, so I am hoping i like them, then am ready for a awesome reboot.

I agree with the majority that DMC2 was the worst. The gameplay was still fun, which I guess is the most important thing. But the characters just felt so cliche and uninteresting, which was it's big downfall I think. Also, the environments and enemies were kind of boring compared to the others. That was really all the brought it down. Still a fun game though.

I can't say I like the new Dante, but I guess I still want to try out the game. If it's good, I can let it slide. If not, then the new developers ruined DMC.

The old Dante was awesome. I don't know why they wanted to improve, but they obviously failed.

I'm done with the whole Dante look like a mixture of Edward (Twilight) and Kurt Hummel (Glee). Dante looks a lot like the director of DmC and they even have the same awful fashion sense lol.

Nah, I don't mind the new Dante.

I think capcom looked at the popularity of Twilight and decided to make an 'Edward' version of Dante. They failed to realize that Twilight is mainly popular with teenage girls, most of whom aren't gamers; and the few that are gamers usually aren't into hardcore action titles.

*edit* I noticed some of you are saying that he doesn't look like Edward, but that's only in the sense that he isn't an Edward doppelganger. However, he still has that same essence, being tall, overly pale, sickly-looking skinny, emo. I don't think I'd hate the redesign as much if they at LEAST put some meat on his bones.

Yeah I won't buy this game if he ends up looking like that for the final product less of that he doesn't look like the old but more of he looked like retarded drug addict who hasn't taken a bath or eaten in weeks.

I thought he worked on DMC3 at least. I knew he didn't work on DMC2. But regardless, he was still with the company during this time. He either left shortly before or shortly after DMC4. But I never said this is the first game he didn't work on. I said it's the first game made after he left the company. DMC4 might have been released after he left, but I'm pretty sure development started while he still worked for Capcom.

I don't care for the Dante redesign, but if it runs as well as DMC 4, and (big part here) Capcom optimizes it for 64-bit (like DMC 4), then I might try it.

I'll wait and see what Kevin says in his review...I hope he writes it, since he did write DMC 4's.
