Sometimes I leave it in, sometimes I don't. I haven't had any problems with my games by leaving them in the console though.

Always. The only time I take a game out of the tray is to swap it with another. Or if it's not my game and I'm returning it, then the tray might be empty.

Yeah, I do and i've never had any problems. The only time I definitely remove them is if i'm going to move the console around or if i'm not going to use it again for a very long time.

Does the manuel give a reason why? I dont understand how the disc could be damaged unless you move the console with the disc inside or expose it to extreme heat or something.

I have been since the mid 90's and my consoles seem to last fine, my launch PS2 is still running ok much to my utter shock. It has actually outlived 2 pc's now lol.

I don't, for some reason I never feel like I'm done with playing if I don't take the game out, put it in the box and put it on the shelf. Exception: portable games (so I can just pick up and play without having to look for a game) and cartridge based games (because putting them back in the box is a pain).

I never take them out until I'm moving onto a new game. I've had some games in for over 6 months at least and no problems ever. Only reason it says to take them out each time in the manual is because they want you to touch thier games all over the place.

I have a PS2 for more than 3 years now and I never had a problem with my discs being left in the console. Actually, I don't remember reading in the manual that I should remove them :?

Always leave the disc in. I even moved house with a disc in the console oooooooooooh yeah I'm a lazy one which explains why I don't read the manuals to see those kind of warnings.

Yeah, I always have a disc in each of my consoles, unless I just took out a game or movie I was renting to return it. I've even moved 'em a few times with discs in, and never had a single problem.

yea I pretty much always leave them in the console when I shut it down. The only bad thing I've run across in doing that is alot of the time I'll grab a case of a game to play at somebody elses place only to find out, the game is still in the console.

Yeah, i think evey true gamer does, it's just easy'er to turn the console on and start playing. No one really wants to take the time taking and puting the game in.

I was just wondering if you keep your discs inside the console when you are finished playing for the day. I leave mine in but I have read in a few instruction booklets for the console, that this is not advised. Anyone else leave their discs in?Thorpe89

No, only if I'm too tired to take them out and put them back in their cases after I'm done playing.

I never take my games out unless I'm moving my system or changing games. I've noticed that they said that though, in the manuals I mean. Weird..

I always take the game out of the console and put it away when I'm finished playing it. I've always been this way and done this when I had cartridge based consoles.

Sometimes, not always. With the ability of turning off the console with the game controller, getting up to take the disc out becomes an excruciating process.
