Do you often sell games which you don't think you'll ever play again or never finished? This has happened many times in which some cases I've regretted it which is odd. Would you keep the game anyway just for the sake of it?

I do this all the time. I sold Fallout 3, Dead Rising & Oblivion, and have since bought the again. I've had two PSP's, & plan on buying one again, or maybe a second DS. Theres also other games I've had, then traded in/returned, and plan to buy again, such as Bioshock, Mass Effect, UFC 2009: Undisputed & Halo 3. Hell, I'm even thinking about trying to find a cheap PS2 for GoW, GoWII & the final fantasy games. I just go through phases, and trade/sell games depending on them. Surprisingly, I doesn't cost much, as I usually return them within a couple weeks.
I've probably owned 15 games in the last 3 months, and only spent $30-$40 because of returns & trading in.
If it's a game that I like playing I'll keep it cause you never know when you'll go back to it.
I own a GC,PS2, PS3, Xbox and PSP. I have a good size collection of games and yes every now and again I'll put one of the old games in and play it just because I like it.
I'm constantly trying to trim the fat off my game collection. I just don't want to be screwed over by Gamestop, so that slows down the process considerably. The book self in my room has two rows dedicated to my games, one with the games I'm keeping and the another is for the ones I'm getting rid of.
Basically I try to keep the games that I know I'll play through again and again.
I keep my games. I used to have to get rid of them in order to afford new games (had to do the same for systems :()
Any games that I still have will stay with me forever. Even games I own which I consider the worst games ever such as TF2, and Rex Ronan.
I've been wanting to get rid of Animal Crossing City Folk, but haven't got the time, I really need to sell that I don't like it at all.
Goozex.com has been a great place to dump unwanted games. While I am a collector and my collection is sizable not everything is worthy of being added. The main victims tend to be shooters. Most don't hold any real replay value for me. Saddest part is that there are a few I would have kept if there was bot support on the multiplayer side.
The biggest downside to Goozex is that they are unrepentant Valve fanboys. I understand why you can't trade Half-Life 2. Unreal Tournament 3 is a different story. Registering it on Steam is optional. That is enough to bar trading. I'd love to get rid of too. Oh well, maybe someone will release a good enough total conversion to redeem the game.
I sold or traded so many games in my PS1 and PS2 days. I'm annoyed with myself for doing it now, because some of those games are rare and extremely expensive now (FF7 for example) And half of those games I soold I end up wanting to play again years later.
I never sell my games now. I've even kept Turok just in case I become braindead and actually want to play that atrocity, I just keep it out of view so it doesn't disgust me with it's presence... :P
at the moment i'm back to keeping games for good.
the only time i've ever sold my games is something like to buy a new piece of hardware. I did this to buy the Playstation 3. i essentially knocked little more then a hundred dollars by selling about 6 of my 360 games. since then i've rebought like 2 of them. and 1 of those i bought for the PS3. (i've rebought Gears of War 1, Bioshock for PS3, and i'm planning on rebuying Prince of Persia but for the PS3.)
I'm currently considering selling two games (Tom Clancy Endwar, and Infinite UnDiscovery). i'll rebuy Endwar for the PS3 way down the road, and i've yet to actually play Infinite Undiscovery, and i doubt i'll ever play it - total waste of cash. in order to deck the price down for inFamous.
anyways. yeah.
I buy to keep, i intend on it, but if the game is something that i can part with in order to be pragmatic for a more anticipated game.
Occasionally when there is a dry spell of worthwhile games, i'll just buy an ok game at the right price, if it's a turn off that's a game i'll sell off.
of the games i have for older consoles like the PS2 and N64, the only games i consider mine are like no more then 12 games for PS2, and 5 for N64. we have a ton more games that we ended up keeping but those are my brothers games. we got Fifa games for like 4 year consecutive year additions. i never palyed em' but my bro's played em' to death.
I've traded in over 120 games at EB games and I really (and I mean really) regret it. Sure I got a few new games but so much money spent on all those games just tears at me.
I won't be trading in anything else. Most I will do is sell the game on Ebay or Kijiji.

I think that could be remedied by Valve, by offering a sell-back price. Doesn't Impulse already do that? Please Log In to post.
