voted no, but i have sold a couple games at gamestop when i was younger and needed the cash for new games
no regrets honestly, it was worth it at the time, and i don't miss the games i sold, because those games weren't to my liking anyways
if you don't mind getting less than half of what you paid for back, then its a fine service
I normally don't unless I have a a gift card or in-store credit already and want to add on to. I have a local gaming store that I usually sell to. They give a little bit more.
I sell it only when it is at my advantage for example i sold dmc on ps3 only because i want to buy DMC PS4 definitive edition advantage imo is 1080p n 60 fps n hack n slash
Oh yes, it's a hoot.
You go to Gamestop and the staff asks, 'what you got for me today, pal?'
And you say, 'well, I got this Gameboy that was used by JF Kennedy. With his autograph. I want 10 000 dollars for it.'
And the staff says, 'Yeah, I'm not gonna give you that. Ten dollars is the best I can do.'
And you say, 'Oh yeah? Pull the other one, Rick, it's got bells on it.'
God, no! They screw people over royally. I'll never sell another game to Gamestop again. But tbh their used game prices are great. I always come out of there with good games for like $10-20
I understand, some people have money issues. I do not judge. Buying a game, selling it back to buy the next one, is a legit 'lifestyle'.
But I myself was brought up in another era. Games became a 'hobby' when I already was working.
I buy it, I 'own' it. (though, these days we don't 'own' games we buy. We just are allowed a licensed use).
To me 'selling my game' would be as if somebody would ask me, if I want to sell my used underwear to someone else (... outside of Japan). I'd say "no".
I used to return games to them because as a kid I had no job, no money, and trade in credit was convenient. They gave me $40 store credit for my Tales of the Abyss PS2 years ago - way more than what I paid for it. I haven't traded in anything to them in awhile. Mostly just list them on eBay and see how it does there.
