I might pick one of these up tomorrow and I didn't know if the story builds from game to game like some series. all replies will be appreciated!

The story does build. It would be best to play both games. You should know what led up to the beginning of the second game.

The stories kind of build off of one another, but i dont think it really matters. Just buy both, i mean they are both greatest hits now.
