I was just curious if anyone still play games for single player and not online? I think I'm probably the only person that doesn't play online. I have any xbox live account, and I download demos and content, but I just don't get into multiplayer games too much anymore. The only time I play multi-player games is when my buddies comes over and we play NBA 2K8, Fight Night, or we play a co-op game. I was just curious if anyone feels the same way?

I mostly prefer single player games; I guess it really depends on the genre. Games like Counterstrike, Unreal, FEAR, and Team Fortress 2 are my favorite online FPSes; World in Conflict, Starcraft, and Company of Heroes are my favorite RTSes.

I'm burned out on first person and shooters (Gears of War, Rainbow Six, COD series) and those games are all about multiplayer. I just got my PS3, but I'm finishing up Assassin's Creed on the 360, then I will start playing MSS Snake Eater.

I am almost exclusively a singleplayer gamer. The only online games I've ever really enjoyed were Call of Duty, Day of Defeat, Day of Defeat: Source and Doom 3. Recently I tried playing Republic Commando online and just gave up because I hate lag and don't care much for the online community anymore... when you get called a "noob" and get booted for using weapons that are programmed into the game (i.e. Wookie Rocket Launcher) I just cannot respect the online community. I will continue to play games over LAN with friends but I think I might just give up on online altogether... it is just starting to reek now.

It is also a shame that so many online games, especially in the case of shooters, don't have a offline "multiplayer" mode with bots. I've played about 60+ hours of SW: Battlefront II and about 40+ hours of SW: Battlefront and not a single minute of that was spent online. I love playing by myself and not being insulted and/or booted for having skill and pissing off kids.

I like playing single player games the most. I don't have too many multiplayer games, but I have some.

Im starting to lean more torwards online. Dont quite know why but I think COD4 has something to do with this...I will be critisized for what I say: COD 4 is not only the weakest of the series but more importantly its plain boring.

I prefer single-player or cooperative. Competetive gaming can be fun, but like foxhound said, there's only so many times you can get berated by 14 year olds before you give up. I think it's just the nature of being "online". Like, for example, I was play CoD4 online a few weeks ago, and some dude was just being a completechode When I asked him, "Dude, why are you being such a chode he responded simply "I don't know. It's the internet."

I am a big fan of single player or multiplayer co-op. I rarely play multiplayer competitive. The games that I tend to play are more rpg, strategy and sim games though. Prince of Persia, The Guild 2, The Guild, Sentinel, Fallout, Jade Empire, Fable, etc. are a few games that I play. Most of these aren't multiplayer based (although The Guild would be awesome to get going as a lan with friends).

i prefer single player and multiplayer co-op, as in with a friend in my house. i actually loved gears of war's single player campaign, even if it could have been longer. i barely played it online.

I think game developers will make a game just for multiplayer and have little to no single player content. That really ticks me off. I also think that when you pay 60 bones for a game, you need to get what you pay for. I'm a sports gamer as well, and I don't even play those games online anymore. I would rather just play my franchise and build my team. I remember when the x-band came out for sega genesis and super nintendo, It just didn't captivate me. The only time I play against people if they come over and we play in person. Most of my friends don't have xbox live as well.

I play games for single-player all the time... I usually only play multiplayer games when playing with friends, although there are a few games that I play regularly online.

I usually play singleplayer. I used to play Socom 1 & 2 a lot before Socom 3 came out. Maybe twice a month I might pop in Socom Combined Assault and play it online. The online community doesnt bother me much although I see rooms like "No Blacks Allowed" or people with clantags with KKK in them.

I have never once played online. I play campaign on Halo 2, single player. I probably finished that well over 1,000+ times within a year of having it. I play multiplayer games when my friends come over, and we have a get together. I'm considering on getting xbox live though..

I love them both. Gears of War, Halo 3, Forza 2, and Lost Planet are incredibly fun online. I recently picked up The Orange Box which is an excellent package but haven't tried Team Fortress yet. I've mostly been playing single-player lately but that's due to the games I've been picking up like Mass Effect and I just picked up Assassin's Creed the other day. I haven't tried AC but Mass Effect is awesome stuff.

I play MMOs, otherwise I play by myself, never tried the multiplayers components of other games.

EDIT: I did play Axis & Allies in multiplayers, I also tried Diablo II in multiplayers, but mostly, nope.

I prefer single player games although I do play my fair share of multiplayer, but usually with my other half. I game online less and less at the moment, although I don't get as much time so that may have something to do with that. I much prefer sitting and playing a large adventure game or RPG.

I don't play online, either. I'd like to start, but it looks complicated...especially with how my house is set up. Besides, single-player would be my first priority anyway because I love a good story. :)

Depends ... when I start playing a cool multiplayer game, like Call of Duty or team fortress 2, I usually take a few months to stop playing it. Then I find out that there are a huge amount of games that were released while I was playing and then I play the singleplayer of all those games for a long period, then come back to a multiplayer game. It's a cycle.

It depends on the mood I'm in. Sometimes I want to play games by myself, meaning I just run through a single player campaign just for fun, other times I just feel like playing multiplayer.

I typically only play and enjoy single-player. If I get a game with online multiplayer I'll at least try it, but it usually doesn't hold my attention for more than an hour. I like playing split-screen with my wife or some friends though. The only game I really liked playing online was Diablo 2.

It depends on the game. There are some games I buy solely for single player (Prince of persia, dead space etc.) but there are games that i mostly play online(COD WAW, GOW2 etc.) I have had a xbox for many years and i only got live a few months ago and just played solo

I have played exclusively by myself since Ive had my PS3 except for some online play with LBP. I did play multiplayer with Battlefront 2 on the PS2 a few times and hated it, I would get killed in 10 seconds or less, I thought there was no strategy involved, it wasnt fun to me. I will probably try online again when I get A Call of Duty or Resistance game.
