I'm Just curious about, do you prefer RPGs (Role-Playing Games) or FPS (First-Person Shooters)? Personally, I love getting lost in the story and character development of RPGs, but the fast-paced action of FPS games is hard to resist. What about you? Which one do you enjoy more and why? Let's hear your thoughts!

I like RPGs more. They usually have deep stories as well as meaningful dialogue, memorable boss fights and relatable characters. For me, it's hard to get excited about an FPS. A lot of it just seems to be soulless. An abundance of a lack of originality is what I see. That's why Titanfall 2 was such a huge shock for me. I'm playing it right now and I love it. You can run on walls and stop bullets in mid air. It's like I'm Neo in the Matrix.

But yeah, RPGs are better, in my view.

I prefer action Rpg's but do play the odd FPS if it's a good campaign. Probably 60/40 in favour of RPG.

Varies on the game but I probably play more RPGs.

Enjoy a good shooter however find less and less interest me. D00M 2016 was great, didn't care for Eternal was a weird game. DUSK was the last shooter that really did it for me. From the competitive FPS standpoint it's really the Splatoon series that keeps me going. Was always more into Arena Shooters and only Splatoon and Quake Champions have really filled that itch in recent years (Quake Champions is far from recent though)

I've played a lot of the Battleroyals and such however mostly play them out of boredom or to play with a group of friends who are inbetween games.

---

RPGs is a weird one because you have sub genres within RPGs. The wait round to round Traditional RPGs don't do it for me. I find them boring and more focused to telling a forever retold generic story of heroism.

I like Action and Strategy RPGs a lot:

  • S/CRPGs such as Disgaea & Baldur's Gate III. Divinity OSII as well. So much depth and player freedom is generally refreshing. A good SRPG is alarmingly addictive.
  • ARPG you won't find a bigger fan of Monster Hunter around the forums, and I really like Dragon's Dogma a lot too. Dark Souls is ok but the fandom is generally pretty cringe so I prefer not to associate with them. The good ARPGs tend to have deep and satisfying combat with insane replayability.

It's a hard choice. But I'll go with RPG games cause I guess I like them more. Especially for thiere deep storytelling, exploration, strategic depth...etc.

But I also love FPS games they can be really fun, they provide things RPGs usually don't, like:

Fast-Paced Action , Skill Development, Competitive Play, Teamwork and Communication.

I think it's a 60/40.

I'm more into RPG's personally since I play games to relax. I do enjoy a good single player FPS game but I manage people at work, so after a long day I'm generally not itching to jumping in an online shooter and get on the mic with anyone.

Both actually, But mainly RPGs hahaha turn based like Divinity 2 or Angelic Chaos Theatre might hit best. When i wanted a fast paced game thennn i might play FPS like Apex Legends or Black Squad

I think there's more FPSs I like than RPGs, so I guess I prefer FPS.

Combining the two is nice though.

Typically I prefer RPG, of course not saying there aren't great pure FPS games too.
