The old add-ons I don't remember anyone buying for the old consoles?
I'm talking about the likes of the Super Scope for the SNES.

Or the PS2 controller that went around your arm. Anyone remember any others/have a picture of that one?

Wanna talk about old add-on's... here is a list of junk I've owned at one point or another:

Intellivision - Intelli-voice module [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intellivision#Intellivoice]
Colecovision - Module 1 (atari 2600 module) Module 2 - Driving control [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ColecoVision]
NES - R.O.B.; Power-glove; Power Pad; Four-score; NES Advantage; NES Max
Genesis - Sega CD, Sega 32X
SNES - Mouse [From mario paint]
For my PS1 I like my ASCII grip to play FFVII with :-)

I never owned that hexagon IR thing for the genesis, anyone remember this... the Sega Activator?

I don't have a lot of old add-ons, but I have a few for my PS2. DDR mats, Buzz! controllers, EyeToy, and steering wheel. I also have this 2-piece thing that turns your wired controllers into wireless controllers, but it only works on the original PS2s.

I never knew anyone with the SNES Super Scope. I remember seeing a game requiring it at Blockbuster and always wanting to rent it, but never did cause I couldnt find the super scope.

I had a friend with a super scope (but he also had most of the pointless things like R.O.B.) and I had a Sega Menacer so we had the light gun games down.

But I never really got into the extra stuff, though I did get the Wii Zapper... promptly played the Crossbow game for ten minutes... and haven't touched it since.

I had an NES Advantage (loved the arcade joystick) Power Pad and Zapper (like everyone) for the NES, and I had the Sega CD and 32X (ugh, Sega how could you wound me so!) for the Genesis. I also had the 4MB expansion for the Saturn and whatever the expansion card was for the N64 as well as four of the Pokemon game adapters for the N64 controllers.

And yes, the ring was called the Activator, but I don't think it was Sega specific, I just think it was being promoted for Sega since they had the bloddy version of MK.

wrong, it was very sega specific, and it was as useful as a blind gymnastic judge. eternal champions was about the best functionality, but that's still not very good. i've got some pretty useless periphs. the nes satellite. it's a wireless multitap for the nes, but it uses like 6 c batteries and only lasts for about two hours, and needs a direct line of site to the nes. the nes advantage and the nes max. my fav is the max.i've got the super scope, even though i don't currently have an snes, i've got the menacer, sega cd, and 32x for the genesis. 4meg ram cart for the saturn and the 3d controller. i also have the expansion for the 64 and transfer packs. i've got a pocketstation from japan which i imported to level up my chocobo summon in ff8. i've got those bongos for the gc... the e-reader, gameboy camera and printer... link cables galore, the gameboy player... i'm sure there's more, but that's all that's coming to mind right now, and i don't feel like getting up to go check what else i've got. i really love peripherals... i want steel battallion so bad.

The NES had tons of crazy add-ons. If you haven't seen it, watch the Angry Video Game Nerd episode about NES Accessories.
