Do you still buy ps2 games even today?

I think the ps2 probably has the greatest collection of great games. With the huge library, there are probably still plenty of great games and hidden gems that are still worth playing even today. My 10 years old fat ps2 still works but I am considering buying a slim ps2 just in case my fat should fail and I really like the style and the quiteness of the slims. Does anybody still purchase games for their ps2?

Not usually, but I did finally import Hokuto No Ken. Been having a pretty good time with it.

All the time! At over 125 PS2 games you'd think I'd start slowing down, but I just keep on finding more and more PS2 games I want. Eventually my collection will swell to over 200 if I'm not careful. Just last week I picked up Fatal Frame for $5, a PS2 title that I have wanted for a while now.

Hell yeah I do, I just picked up "Contra: Shattered Soldier" recently. I have more PS2 games than any other games in my collection because they're so cheap. There's still plenty on my wishlist.

Sort of. I don't have my PS2 and my old fat PS3 was replaced with a slim a year ago, but before then even up until my PS3 was on its death bed I was spending time on Ebay shopping for ridiculously cheap and amazing PS2 titles. Manhunt was such a good last game to get, but with PS2's now at $20 at Gamestop I kind of want one now so I can continue to do this.

Tons, same as Gamecube. I was going to pick up a bunch at the Gamestop buy 10 for 15 dollars sale, but didn't really find anything good except Onimusha. I'm probably going to keep getting a few here and there online as my backlog shrinks.

Yep. Only a couple of weeks back I picked up a new copy of Persona 4 which I'll start playing through soon. I've picked up about 10 games over the last year and even a second hand US PS2 to play imports.

I've been trying to find Guilty Gear Accent Core xx Plus, King of Fighters 12, and Champions of Norrath 1 & 2 but can't. My Gamespot sucks when it comes to ps2 games.

Sure do. I bought Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 just a couple of weeks ago.
I've got a list of around 30 games I'd still like to pick up, plus I'm always discovering games for the system that I didn't know about. My PS2 collection is at about 120 games right now and showing no signs of stopping.

Yes I still play PS2 games in 2012. I even play PS1 games in 2012. I have a few good retro game shops to buy old games from. My nest PS2 game will be MLB2K12 which was released on March 15th 2012. It is the offically last Playstation game to be released. I shall buy a copy for Playstation 2. So I can say I played the last PS2 game ever released.

Then continue to buy and play other PS2 games since there is just over 10,000 titles released. I have 138 games for PS2 so I have a ways to go.

Definitely. I've been looking for more "rare" games lately at Gamestop. Picked up a few semi-rare games but all used condition. Include games like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 with no booklet, Radiata Stories, Grandia 2, Digital Devil Saga (although Im not really into RPG's), and Fatal Frame 2, dot.Hack: Infection... and older classics like Indigo Prophecy, Psychonauts (which I'd never thought I'd get) and Beyond Good and Evil. Yea I know these games aren't so much 'rare' in used condition but it's still cool to own them.

Sure. It is cheap and they have quality. Some are best than the most part of the games of nowdays.

Once in a while I still buy them. Though over the years I've finally bought nearly every game I really want to own for the system, there are still a few titles left that I'll probably get one day.

I do indeed, I buy games for every console I own and I always will (well, that is until I own every game I want from the specific consoles). But I don't legacy games as much as I would like to, because there are just so MANY current gen games coming out all the time. If it's not a new game, it's DLC :P. But I have been wanting to get some more PSP and PS1 games lately.Ashley_wwe

I buy them whenever I can. Most of the games are dirt cheap nowadays, so I don't mind picking up a game or two every once in a while.

I'm the same. I used to buy games for my retro consoles like a mad man but my backlog of just current gen games is adding up, leaving even less time for my retro backlog.AcidSoldner

Yeah, it's the only last gen console I currently collect for, and the only last gen console you can find games for widely in shops for a reasonable price. (don't even try to find anything from the PS1 and N64 era here!) It sucks because my PS1 and N64 is hard to collect for..

I just started my collection about 3 months ago and I'm at 28 or 29 games, I love most of them and most of them live up to my memories of them and I'm even enjoying some stuff I never played before. (God of War series, Tekken Tag Tournament, Destroy all Humans series and loads more)

Just spent some quality time playing Devil May Cry 3, the PoP series, thanks to a friend who sold them to me. Unfortunately I can't find PS2 games on sale in stores where I live, so I have to find those willing to sell.

Heck Yeah! PS2 is my favorite system and I still play it like its still in style haha.

I just recently got into the ps2, and bought Devil May Cry 1/3, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Shadow of the Colossus. All awesome games, except for Shadow of the Colossus which I found overrated. I'm trying to decide on what games I want to get next for it...

Just bought a brand new Mega Man Collections from eBay for $20.00. Can't wait until that game arrives.

Hell yes! So many excellent PS2 games out there - it's inevitable that I've missed out on at least a few. One of the greatest systems of all-time IMO.

My fat PS2 broke on me last weekend (it's very hit-and-miss in terms of recognizing discs), but I plan on buying a slim in the new future.
