I feel that there are a lot of toxic people that use voice chat in multiplayer games. It hasn't always been bad, though. I have come across some great people on Xbox Live over the years. I'm wondering what all of you do. Do you use a mic to chat in online games?

For multiplayer games commonly use voice-chat, if someone is toxic you have the ability in games usually to silence or block them.

Only with friends on discord. Talking in general voice chat is a not pleasant experience all too often for me.

Yeah, when raiding with my WoW guild.

It's actually pretty awesome, talking to these people all over the world, playing a video game. I kind of want to get into it with other communities (namely Warhammer: Darktide) but I honestly don't know where to start in terms of finding and becoming part of a community.

As an older gamer, it has always been toxic since in game chat started lol. Man COD lobbies were abusive and some would be on a terrorist watch list nowadays if they said the same things. I usually only chat with friends now.

Sure. It always depends on the situation - I typically keep a friends list for those I prefer to game online with and party chat, otherwise I might use it randomly but that would be pretty rare. It would have to be a game that absolutely required communication.
