Do you watch Lets Plays?

Well I do because I find them and enteraining, and plus I like to check some out of games I haven't played yet. What about you guys do you like to watch LPs?

In general no. It's mostly a bunch of awkward jokes and completely arbitrary commentary. I do like some of Giantbomb's quick looks though.

Usually only from youtubers I like and am subscribed to. Not random ones.

There are something that I can have playing while I do some work on my computer..

You do need to pick out the right ones.

Depends what game, I am not going to watch a lp of MW3 but maybe on Heavy Rain with good commentary.

Why would i want to watch some one else play games when i could play games myself?

Before i get a game ill watch a couple walkthroughs just to make sure it looks worthwhile but for the most part i stay away from Lets Plays. Watching someone else play games is a waste of time.

Also most of these people are desperate for attention & views. They use topics over their gameplay, which i think is dumb. Are we here to watch gameplay or to talk about hot topics that have no relevence at all.

Only rarely. As a previous poster said, too much cursing makes the whole thing seem childish.

On the other hand, I will watch Giant Bomb's Endurance Run if they play a game that interests me (the Persona 4 ER is required viewing, as is Deadly Premonition). Also, I've been watching Game Center CX lately, which is on a different level.

Well i'm a big fan of Two Best Friends Play and i'm currently watching their Resi Evil Two play and i don't consider it a waste of time, because its entertaining to me.

I found only a few does curse during the LP.

Not really no, the only ones I've ever watched are from Tobuscus because he's hilarious.

That ones on machinima right? If you're getting enjoyment out of it then there is no harm done. If you're laughing that's all that matters. Its just that most Lets PLays are not funny, or entertaining in any way yet people love them. There is only a handful that are actually good.

I used to watch the Bob & Steve Splinter Cell Coop show. That's probably the closest thing to any Lets Plays that i actually watched & got some laughs & entertainment out of.

Yeah they've been on machinima for a while, but their Resi Evil 2 walkthrough is on their own channel. If it's not funny and you aren't watching it for information purposes (finding secrets, tips on certain areas and levels etc etc) then i don't know why you'd watch a play like that.

If I want to see the gameplay of a particular game, I might.

Also, I've been watching Game Center CX lately, which is on a different level.

I only watch LPs when I want to check gameplay. I also make game videos, but they are mostly playthrough highlights without commentary. There is usually as much action as there is story and I try to edit them to be like TV series episodes.

If they're entertaining, and I'm really bored.

If it's a game I've played before and I'm really good at, I'll usually compare our skills and leave a comment or two. :P

i might watch some of one for sake of checking out how a game plays before i buy it. its a more honest representation of a game than trailers. i dont think theyre entertaining or anything though. id rather actually play the game and the whole "let's play" is just wrong. it should be "i play" :P

I don't every other word is a curse.... If I'm interested in a game I'll watch some quick gameplay videos and then go buy it.

yea i like to watch GhostRobo on youtube.. his commentary and videos are really top notch

I've never watched more than one or two parts from them. I use them to get an idea of how a game is and how it plays etc.
